Wide sandy beaches, gently rolling waves, enchanted pine forests and wide Bodden landscapes - the peninsula Fischland-Darß enchants with its untouched coastal nature. While the holidaymakers romp on the beach here in summer, you have the peninsula almost to yourself for the rest of the year. In spring and autumn, countless migratory birds keep you company, which gather on the wide, wet meadows around the Bodden. First and foremost, swarms of cranes - a paradise for bird lovers.
I have put together a four-day hike for you on which you can explore the most beautiful places in Fischland-Darß. You will hike through the Darß jungle, visit the Ahrenshooper cliffs, climb the 40-feet-high (18 meters) Bakelberg and enjoy a steaming tea in the tearoom Prerower Teeschale. With a distance of around12 miles (20 kilometers), the individual stages are quite long, but thanks to well-developed and flat hiking trails, the route is also perfect for beginners and pleasure hikers. If you'd like to take it a little easier, you can simply divide the stages or shorten them by bus. If you want to enjoy the scenery a bit more at the end of your hike, you should take a look at my bonus route. On the leisurely circuit you explore the Barther Bodden from Barth and enjoy the wide view from the Hintersten mountains.
You'll find plenty of accommodation, cafés, restaurants and supermarkets in all the destinations. Even if things are quieter here outside the bathing season, you should book your accommodation in advance - not all guesthouses and holiday apartments are open in autumn and winter.
The best thing about my hikes is that all the stops are served by VVR bus lines 202 and 211. You can, therefore, plan all five hikes as day-tours or put together your own personal multi-day hike.
The starting point Graal-Müritz and the destination Barth are both connected to the regional and long-distance railway network of Deutsche Bahn, allowing you to easily arrive at your hiking weekend on Fischland-Darß without needing a car.
Bus schedules from the VVR can be found at vvr-bus.de/bediengebiete/nordvorpommern/fahrplan.

The first stage of your hike via Fischland-Darß takes you from the seaside resort of Graal-Müritz through the enchanted moorland of the Gribnitz Great Moor to the tranquil coastal town of Dierhagen.

The second day of hiking takes you to the exciting cliffs between Wustrow and Ahrenshoop. The sandy and loamy cliffs have been formed by the waves of the Baltic Sea for hundreds of years and change their shape from year to year. After a stop in Ahrenshoop, the route then continues along the banks of…

Untouched nature is on the program for the third stage. Today you will explore the Darßer Jungle and the Darßer Weststrand. Both are rightly part of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park. After a detour to Darßer Ort, the northernmost part of the peninsula, the stage destination Prerow awaits…
The last stage of your Fischland-Darß weekend takes you inland from Prerow. You hike across wide wet meadows through the Bodden landscape, where you can watch countless migratory birds in autumn. After crossing the Meiningenstrom, which connects the Bodstedter with the Barther Bodden, you reach your…
If you can extend your weekend a bit, then I have prepared another hike for you here. North of Barth, the destination of the weekend hike, a small promontory extends into the Barther Bodden. On a leisurely hike you can circle the headland and also visit the rearmost mountains.
From the market square in…
