Wonderful lake landscapes, picturesque forests, idyllic canal settlements, sandy postcard beaches and cosy beach bars – a bike ride through Berlin's largest district Treptow-Köpenick feels like a little holiday that you can find right on your doorstep and that experience by bike! Cycling is the best way to get up close and personal with the unique flair between the hustle and bustle of the city and picturesque nature. The seven routes in this Collection take you to the most beautiful places in and around Treptow-Köpenick, combining a city atmosphere with cultural, historical and nature highlights.

It's no wonder that Treptow-Köpenick is an excellent place for cycling: the district is exceptionally green and a perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. More than two thirds of the area consists of forests, lakes, parks or nature reserves. It comes as no surprise that Treptow-Köpenick is home to more water and forested areas that any other Berlin district. However, it offers not only recreation and natural idyll, but also all kinds of cultural and historical highlights.

Located near the city centre, Treptower Park invites you to relax after your bike tour. Watch the excursion boats as they tour the Spree, or marvel at the lovingly prepared houseboats that sail the river here. If you still want to be active, you can rent a pedal boat or explore Köpenick’s old town where Kiez-Flair and culture await. A visit to the town hall with Köpenick’s chief should not be missed either. From the UNESCO World Heritage Garden City Falkenberg to the legendary regatta course and the Müggelsee – you can reach all of the district’s highlights easily and quickly by bike.

Our seven tours are designed so that you can reach them easily and quickly by S-Bahn from the centre of Berlin. The tours themselves are so short that you still have enough time to stop at the Must Sees along the routes and discover them extensively. Beach baths, bathing spots or cosy bars often invite you to let the tour end in a relaxed way.

The European Bicycle Route R1 has the makings of a real adventure: It is 4,500 kilometers long, leads through eleven countries and four time zones, from London to Helsinki. The Dahme takes you out of the city along its banks. If you follow the small river that flows into the Spree in Köpenick upriver, it happens by itself. It connects the metropolis with beautiful destinations outside Berlin and traverses the surrounding area of the city. The Dahme bike path along the river

Nowhere can German and Berlin history be “experienced” as well as on the Berlin Wall Trail. For a total of 160 kilometers, it runs mostly along the former customs route or the so-called column route. The GDR border troops used this for their control trips. Today you can cycle wonderfully and enjoy nature

Actually Treptow-Köpenick is much better suited for cycling than Venice, because there cycling is not allowed in the narrow streets of the city center! It's a different story on this bike tour: here you are welcome and thanks to the many lakes, rivers and canals along the route you will feel as if you
