In Germany's northernmost low mountain range, you will find a collection of the awesome trails that are second to none. One bike park next to the other, miles of great enduro trails and an infrastructure designed to meet the needs of adventurous bike fans. Whistle on the Alps - welcome to the Harz mountains!

When you consider the Harz in comparison to the Alps, many might consider them to be some sort of mid-German compromise. The mountains are anything but, however—especially when it comes to the density of trails and special offers aimed at mountain bikers. The 5 bike parks, all centrally located in the Upper Harz Mountains, offer all you need for an action-packed bike weekend and impressively prove our assertion that Harz are worth a visit. As well as mountain bikers, however, the area offers a stunning experience for cross-country skiers and trail runners, no matter whether they be beginners or professionals. And the best thing about all this: The Harz Mountains are easily accessible for the whole of Central and Northern Germany.

Here we show you some really fun rides, all of which take place centrally in the Oberharz. Of course, the classic - a ride up to the Brocken - is not to be missed. All of the other rides are arranged around the bike parks of the Harz Mountains. This results in a "win-win" situation when it comes to fun: first you can take a great mountain bike ride on action-packed trails before you are spat out into a bike park. From here, you can shred to your heart's content - or until you just can't shred anymore.

Granted, a ride on the Brocken is certainly not one of the most creative destinations in the Harz. But let's face it - Harz without chunks is like a beach holiday without beach and sea. And that's why this tour leads you right through the Harz National Park up to the highest mountain in northern Germany

Braunlage is located south of the Brocken in the middle of the Harz National Park and is one of the mountain bike hotspots of the northernmost low mountain range of Germany. Due to its central location in the Harz mountains, it's high up here: the highest point of this tour is 971 meters high. The is

This single-track tour starts and ends at the valley station of the Hahnenklee Bike Park. This means: At the end of the tour, a really good descent awaits you. This also means: After that, the tour does not have to be over yet. If you still feel like it, just grab your bike, let it lift you up again

For the wedding of the mining industry there was the so-called mountain freedom, which was to promote the mining industry and granted the miners certain privileges. A rather bizarre privilege was in some areas the right to brew their own beer. And that meant that there were once many breweries in the
