Today we went to Gouda to the Gothic town hall from the 15th century with its red and white shutters. On Thursday the famous cheese market takes place on the market square. Afterwards we cycled along the lake, Reeuwijkse Plassen. A great cycle path with its many villas and front gardens.

Started in sunshine, took two passenger ferries and finally battled with wind and rain. The Meije cycle path is a pleasure to cycle along. Curvy, narrow and always along the canal. Cars are only allowed to drive at 30 km/h. And there are always great houses to see. The cycle network here in Holland is a dream for cyclists.

We arrived in Alphen aan den Rijn late this afternoon and went for a little exploratory bike ride. We cycled through the polder landscapes in pleasant temperatures and were totally amazed by the idyllic landscape. It's just fun to cycle here.
