Steep cliffs, a romantic coastal landscape, long sandy beaches and the enchanting sound of the sea. On Rügen, Germany's largest island, you’ll find all of this and more. In this Collection, we present four delightful hikes to acquaint you with the island’s dramatic cliffs, untouched nature and Baltic Sea coastline.

I always thought I liked the sea best when it was decorated with long sandy beaches. But Rügen proved me wrong: I also love cliffs. The view through the treetops to the water is simply phenomenal and from the water up to the cliffs is also pretty. And there are long sandy beaches here too, just on the…
Of course! If you're hiking on Rügen, you'll also look at the northernmost point, Cape Arkona. The 43-meter-high chalk cliff is really very impressive. And the lighthouses give you a real coastal feeling. It's possible that it didn't just stop at a fish sandwich.
I'm actually more of a philistine type…
