Salzburger Land’s Hochkönig is the ideal place for a hiking break with the whole family. Here, you’ll discover watery playgrounds, exciting rope gardens, themed trails, impressive waterfalls and small streams that are perfect for a paddle or swim. Spectacular views are guaranteed and children will love spotting the cute mountain inhabitants, like whistling marmots.

In this Collection, we present some beautiful family hikes between 2 and 8 kilometres (1 to 5 mi) long. Whether you're looking for a walk that’s accessible to all or a hike over colourful alpine meadows and through atmospheric forests, you'll find a route the whole family will love here. As well as the glorious wildlife encounters, you’ll also enjoy magnificent views of Hochkönig's impressive mountain world again and again.

The kids will be entertained throughout. Prepare to be charmed by the lovingly carved animal figures on the Schnitzerweg, while the themed trails on climate protection and local agriculture provide an additional layer of interest. As well as this, there are several playgrounds to explore along the routes.

On hotter days, the hikes that take you to refreshing water sources will score extra points! Rushing waterfalls, babbling brooks, sparkling lakes, and a water playground will be appreciated by all and offer the chance to cool off. Finally, when hunger strikes, an alpine hut where you can indulge in regional specialties and gather strength for the next adventure is never very far away.
