The untouched nature of the Ore Mountains is a delight in winter. Blankets of snow glistening in the sun, a dusting of white on the trees, icy streams and fantastic vantage points form a true winter wonderland. On a winter hike you can leave your everyday life behind, improve your mental and physical health and get to know the Erzgebirge at its best – in its white dress.

More than 5,000 kilometres (3,000 mi) of marked hiking trails lead through this cultural and historic landscape. You can also discover traces of its industrial heritage, hiking past mine shafts or former slagheaps, climbing observation towers to survey the land and by visiting unique museums. Both winter hiking beginners and fit winter sports enthusiasts will find perfect conditions for beautiful Tours here.

In this Collection, there are eight different winter hikes where you’ll discover wide vistas, tranquil forest paths and interesting Highlights. Depending on the snow and trail conditions, you can walk the routes with hiking boots or snowshoes. Cosy inns provide the necessary pit stops and serve as an opportunity to warm up. The varied adventure found in the Ore Mountains make them a real winter hiking paradise!
