Where families spend their holidays at the seaside, you swing on your roadbike and let stiff breezes test your character. Passing sheep and windmills, you sweep over dams and dikes on the best asphalt, leave the beach chairs on your left and can easily cover several kilometres. Dams built for coastal protection allow you to explore many islands and hallig islands by bike directly from the mainland — usually without a ferry.
