What could be better than stopping off at a cosy hut during a hike? A cool drink in your hand, a magnificent panorama in front of your eyes, your stomach growling after a day in the fresh air and the food is on its way. You know exactly what we're talking about, right? That feeling of absolute contentment. A stop like this in a rustic hut is the icing on Germany’s Black Forest cake; savour that first sip of beer or the refreshing spritzer.
In this Collection, we introduce you to five hikers' huts in Baiersbronn's walking heaven that provide exactly this feeling. And to make sure you arrive at the huts with enough appetite, we’ve created a matching hike through the Northern Black Forest for each stop.
Baiersbronn lies in the middle of the Black Forest National Park and awaits you with an idyllic package: dense coniferous forests with wonderful hiking trails, fantastic views of the valleys and the surrounding mountains, and regional delicacies from Herrgottsbscheißerle (a local ravioli) to smoked ham.
The community in the Murg Valley is highly celebrated for its excellent food. There are a total of eight Michelin stars in Baiersbronn, distributed among three establishments: the Schwarzwaldstube and Köhlerstube in the Hotel Traube Tonbach, the Restaurant Bareiss in the eponymous Hotel Bareiss and the Restaurant Schlossberg in the Hotel Sackmann.
But the hotels don't just look after their hotel guests. They also operate the hiking huts: Blockhütte, Wanderhütte Sattelei, Forellenhof Buhlbach and Panorama-Hütte, where they spoil nature lovers with hearty snacks, fresh fish or sweet delicacies in a rustic atmosphere.
The Seidtenhof is one of the oldest preserved farms in the Murg Valley. It’s famous for its handmade ice cream, which you can buy in the farm shop or in the self-service freezer. As you can see, you definitely won't go hungry while hiking in Baiersbronn.
Are you planning several hiking days in the region? Then you’ll find a wide range of accommodation in Baiersbronn from luxury hotels to guesthouses. If you’re travelling without a car, you can take the Murgtalbahn train via Rastatt or Freudenstadt.
Enjoy the wonderful fresh air in the Black Forest and relish in the excellent hiking region around Baiersbronn. When your stomach starts to rumble, the next hikers' hut is never far away. To get you in the right mood for your visit to Baiersbronn, we wish you ‘En Guade!’

The air in Obertal-Buhlbach is particularly fresh - it is not for nothing that the Baiersbronn district has been recognized as a climatic health resort. In the Forellenhof Buhlbach of the Hotel Bareiss, fans of freshly caught fish get their money's worth. Rainbow trout, as well as salmon, golden trout and char are bred in our own breeding facility right next to the farm. Fish is nothing to you? Don't worry, as it should be in the Black Forest, there are of course also Maultaschen or a Vesper platter with ham specialties on the menu.
