Industrial Control Systems or ICS are systems designed to support industrial processes. Secure operation of ICS is indispensable as they are used in manufacturing facilities as well as in other various industries which are vital for our daily lives, such as petrochemical plants, electric power plants and water supply facilities.
However, the risk of ICS compromise has significantly risen in recent years. ICS are subject to an increasing frequency of cyber attacks along with their transformation from proprietary, isolated systems to open architectures where vulnerabilities are exposed to a large number of malicious actors.
In cooperation with related industries and international partners, JPCERT/CC will conduct the following activities on ICS security to support our constituents:
- ICS Incident Handling Support
- Coordination of ICS Product Vulnerability
- Awareness Raising for ICS asset owners
- Industrial Control System Self-assessment Tool (J-CLICS)
