Meetings large and small are beneficial to the economy — they generate revenue, encourage new ideas, and build relationships. However, if not planned properly, they can also have a negative impact such as increasing carbon footprints, waste, water and energy consumption.
Ensure your next meeting is a sustainable one by planning it with Independent Collection Hotels & Resorts. Our green meetings, supported by our EarthView program, incorporate environmental and social considerations throughout all stages in order to minimize the negative impact on the environment and local communities.
We reduce water and energy consumption during meetings by using motion sensor lights and by adjusting thermostats to EarthView set points. Most of our properties also offer a bicycle program to help reduce carbon footprints.
Recycling receptacles are present in all guest rooms and public areas. When possible, our hotels and resorts use meeting supplies made from recycled materials. Food and beverages are served in reusable or recyclable containers.
We work with our hotel and resort associates to collect partially used soaps to send to our partner, Clean the World. They sanitize the recycled soap and distribute it as new bars to communities in need, reducing landfill waste.
