The Florida Project (2017)
Great Child Acting.
It seriously pisses me off that this movie didn't even get a single Oscar nomination.
What an excellent movie.
La vie d'Adèle (2013)
Astonishingly French.
This is easily one of the most French films I've ever seen.
A very well done slice of life movie with amazing acting.
EDIT: The director is a piece of s**t, though.
A Rainy Day in New York (2019)
Oh, Timmy.
I really gotta stop watching movies just cause Timmy Chalamino is in them.
This movie tries to be something that it simply cannot be. Timmy looking cute, though.
Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020)
The Best Final Fantasy VII.
That dance sequence...
I did not expect this game to slap this hard. But it slapped me so hard, my wig fell off.
Can't Wait For Final Fantasy VII Remake 2/10
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell (2015)
Basically Saints Row IV, But Slightly Worse.
It's a really good game to just mindlessly play whilst listening to a podcast or multi-tasking.
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
Batguy.
This game really makes you feel like you're Spider-Man.
Ruiner (2017)
A Cyberpunk Delight!
WHAT A GOOD LOOKING GAME! The lighting and shadow effects are among the best I've seen in a while, and the art direction is jaw-dropping. I wish the cutscenes were as beautiful and polished as the actual game, but considering that it's an indie title made with limited budget, I don't mind it at all. And also, considering what the game actually delivers, the cutscenes don't hurt the game in any meaningful way.
What does hurt the game, though, are its generic plot and dialogue. There's basically no voice acting, so this game would've benefited a lot if a little bit more thought were put into the writing. The story is very simple and predictable at times. The characters are okay but none of them is charismatic enough to make you care about them. But what this game lacks in writing, it more than makes up with its gameplay.
WHAT A SATISFYING GAME TO PLAY! The gameplay is very frenetic and fast-paced, and its arsenal of weapons makes the game all the more fun and dynamic. I went into this game thinking that I'd just be shooting non-stop or just holding the firing button like you do in most top down shooters, but the dashing and melee systems are what make exploding enemies and making combos so satisfying. And it does help that every single bit of action in this game is backed by these incredible industrial beats.
WHAT A MIND-BENDING SOUNDTRACK! I'm in love with this game's soundtrack and I'm amazed with how its great collection of tracks marries its aesthetic so well. It has these intense industrial sounding beats that make you want to bash anything that stands in your way. It has these electronic dance songs that just make you wanna dance on top of your enemies corpses. It also has these beautiful, more calm and serene tracks that just make you want to stop everything you're doing and just admire this game's outstanding art direction. Its soundtrack wasn't entirely made just for the game, but it might as well have been, because this game's visuals and its sound seem like they're in a perfect symbiotic relationship.
WHAT A GAME! RUINER has everything a top down shooter should have and, even though its story and writing aren't the best out there, it should be enough to satisfy any fan of this genre of games. But if you're a cyberpunk lover, you need to play this game. I didn't know I needed this game so bad before I started playing it, but I'm so glad I got to experience this cyberpunk delight.
Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020)
Honest.
A simple but raw story with a realistic friendship at its core. No embellishments, no climax. Both comfortable and uncomfortable. Honest.
Pro-lifers mad.
All the Bright Places (2020)
It looks good.
It looks good.
I haven't read the book, but it's better.
Portrait de la jeune fille en feu (2019)
Beautiful Masterpiece.
Masterpiece.
I'll never forgive this film for being so goddamn beautiful. Watched Citizen Kane last night. S**t look like a** now.
Tiger King (2020)
Entertaining.
It's a very entertaining documentary.
White people weird af.
La La Land (2016)
It's Great, Shut Up.
What?
I love musicals and this one's great, leave me alone.
Lava (2014)
No.
Very well animated.
I can't stand that freaking ukulele song and that dumb "love" "lava" pun, I swear. I have no idea why I watched this. It's on Disney and my free trial is about to end, it's 7 am and i haven't slept in 26 hours, what is wrong with me?
Anyways, I did not lava this.
The Lighthouse (2019)
Pure Lovecraftian Horror.
Insane, funny, maddening, hysterical. Lovecraftian.
Masterpiece.
Little Women (2019)
Greta Did It Again!
Little Women (2019) is a period film but it manages to feel so modern and fresh, maybe due to the fact that it touches upon topics that are relevant to us, now.
Even though I've never read the book, I'm aware of its significance, and I'm certain Greta Gerwig did an excellent job adapting it.
Honestly, I feel like I could rewatch this a thousand times and still love it, but I recommend you watch it at least once, because it's definitely worth it.
The Art of Self-Defense (2019)
Pretty Darn Great!
A weird, dark comedy that satirizes and makes fun of topics like power dynamics, the myth of the alpha male, and toxic masculinity.
I loved it.
Child's Play (2019)
Eh.
Chucky's facial expressions are the scariest thing in the movie.
Snatchers (2019)
Silly.
If a Disney Channel or Nickelodeon movie was Rated R.
Vivarium (2019)
Disappointed.
Vivarium is one of those films that is trying to say something, I have a general idea of what it's trying to say, but i don't really care about what it's trying to say,?
It looks pretty good, and the fact that it does just makes me wish that its story and dialog were as well put together as its visuals.
The Babysitter (2017)
Not As Bad As I Thought.
This was not as bad as I thought it would be. Like, Bella Thorne and King Bach are in it, and I still kinda enjoyed it.
Pete Davidson: Alive from New York (2020)
Nah.
This simply wasn't that funny. Not funny at all, at times.
No idea why i watched the whole thing
Knives Out (2019)
An Actual Surprise.
This was the most fun Whodunit I've ever seen.
This was probably the only Whodunit I've ever seen.
Saints Row IV (2013)
Dumb fun.
Dumb fun. If you're looking for a dumb fun game, this is your game. Cause that's what this game is: dumb fun.
Dumb fun/10.
Life is Strange Remastered (2015)
Great Storytelling.
The story is super interesting and bold, but god, it was really hard for me to look past the graphics, and the bare gameplay, and its "hipstery" aesthetic wasn't enough to make it look good.
Really Recommend It For The Story/10
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018)
Shadow Of The Lost Legacy.
I love how committed these Tomb Raider games are to being what they are, and how they don't shy away from going in a less grounded path.
8/10.
