Trap (2024)
Not what it seams
I thought the movie was more than just solid. Only M. Night's attempt to establish his daughter is annoying because she doesn't really act well.
Warning spoilers follow:
Maybe you can overlook her acting if you know the ending.
Maybe it was because she knew who he was and she had to play a singer who has to act in front of the Butcher. After all, it seems that almost everything went according to the profiler's plan.
From the aspect that all the attempts ended up getting him exactly where he was supposed to be, the movie is really well done in my eyes and Josh Hartnet's acting performance is beyond superb in this role.
The ending also resolves nagging questions, such as; why did they know about his visit, more than satisfyingly.
In the end, the police, who knew who he was all along, pushed him exactly where he was supposed to go so that Lady Raven could free his hostage.
All the effort was necessary for the manhunt.
The Mist (2007)
And my oscar goes to Frank
If I could write and had a story worth telling in a movie, I would want no director more than Frank Darabont. The Mist, Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption are, for me, some of the best Stephen King adaptations out there. Frank has a gift for handling stories, dialog and characters in equal measure without neglecting any of them. He brings out what is important and what is usually found between the lines in King's work. The fog is suspenseful, eerie and no matter what came with the fog, it's not half as dangerous as humans. Wrong and inhuman or just all-too-human decisions run through the whole movie and in the end it's another decision that holds absolute horror. A movie that entertains and hurts in the right places.
Disney Speedstorm (2023)
Great
I feel more motivation than I did with the genre's original models.
Here, you can race after race for hours and the rewards don't stop. To bypass pay to win completely, there is even a mode for regulated multiplayer races.
The atmosphere, soundtrack and graphics are awesome, fun and bursting with lovely details. In the founder's package there are not really many bonuses and I have unlocked all but four drivers by playing and Belle I even already have on level 30. So no real pay to win. Nevertheless, I would put money in here because I would accept and buy the game as a full price title.
The tenth star I can not give only because I miss a battle mode with balloons.
Great game, great fun and cross play.
Update 2024: it went down, straight, in every possible way.
The School for Good and Evil (2022)
Bad try
Very bad try to start something like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones or Lord of the rings.
Make-up magicians, not real princess girls talk about styling, a red
thread that keeps disappearing,
scenes that neither look good nor advance
the story, etc.
I'm really not sure who the target audience is
for all this pseudecepic banter.
I would have preferred to watch Harry Potter
for the twentieth time..
I've watched the movie for more than 60 Minutes and every single minute feels like waisting my time. No fear, no fun, no thrill, no atmosphere, only sometimes an overload of red color.
And yes their hogwarts express and speaking hut is a skeleton bird. After 60 minutes of watching I'm not interested enough to spend more time for this, not even to se the end.
Chucky (2021)
Chucky the real good guy
Chucky is back once again, this time in series format, and even though I have nothing against diversity, the topic is once again pushed to the fore a little too obtrusively and without bringing the story forward. It's the same with the bullying issue... Chucky has done a bit too much educational work for me and in my eyes Charles would rather have made jokes about these topics, which unfortunately is no longer possible in our time. Tolerance has become a one-way street in which old-fashioned views are no longer allowed. I still enjoyed the series and the actors did a good decent job. I'm really surprised how well Chucky fits into the series format. Even if he now seems a bit too tolerant and soft-spoken.
Altrimenti ci arrabbiamo (2022)
No no and no
It wasn't the original film that was so good, it was Bud and Terence and the incredibly cool German dubbing.
Why a sequel?
Who needs this rubbish?!
Few films I haven't seen to the end, but here it was over after 15 minutes.
An this 15 minutes seamt so incredibly long.
Maverick or Balboa... thats how to make a sequel after so many years.
Shame on Netflix, shame on the writers, sharme on the regiesseur, shame on the actors, shame on those who like that stupid crap, shame on those who spend time on this (me included), shame on the red buggy for driving through this mountain of s***, shame on everyone on the set, shame on the beer, shame on the sausages, shame on their cow.
Beerfest (2006)
not bavarian approved
That's not the way Bavarians talk, the clothes are an insult to Bavarian dresses, Oktoberfest didn't used to be like that and never will be and nothing in the film looks anything like Oktoberfest and Bavaria! As if an American light beer drinker would even be allowed to take part in such a competition...
They didn't even leave the USA for the exterior shots. ...but the American doesn't like dubbed, because it's not authentic 😂
The film is bad, not researched at all and absolutely embarrassing.
Family Matters: Polkapalooza (1998)
Stupid and wrong
That's not the way Bavarians talk, polka comes from the Czech Republic and the clothes are an insult to Bavarian dresses!
...and the story went to complete trash!
Prey (2022)
Fresh wind
In my opinion it is the best and freshest entry in the whole franchise since the first movie.
They take the point that the predators moved to earth long before our aktuall civilization exists from the AVP storyline. The movie comes more realistic and believable then all the othe Predator movies. Its fresh, its new, its absolutely a Predator movie.
Resident Evil (2022)
What?!
A slap in the face for every fan of the games.
Constantin only uses the name to avoid losing the rights to Francise.
The story is real garbage, the action is lousy and Wesker doesn't even act a bit like Wesker.
Why is the only question that remains after watching this trash show!
The Dark Knight (2008)
not my Batman
I usually only find the works of Marvel Studios so overrated. Heath Ledger does his job well, but despite his involuntary smacking, doesn't manage to match the comic book character of the Joker. Only his confusion about his origins is reminiscent of the Killing Joke Joker. I also find the characters a bit flat and too slick in typical Nolan fashion although the story could hardly be more dramatic. The Bale Bruce is portrayed more and more egotistically, although he only reaches the peak of narrow-mindedness in Rises.
In addition, Nolan has also scrapped the great setting from Batman Begins and simply renamed Manhattan Gotham, and I will never approve of the exchange of actors during ongoing film series. Entertaining work that suffers from a lack of atmosphere, changes too much from its predecessor here and there and misses the mark by far. I'd also like to say something about the Batpod... what is it and why do you have to use it to turn around on walls in such an extremely stupid way? I give Nolan credit for the "then you'll love me" performance, but even this moment doesn't come close to the "swear on me" performance from Batman begins, nor does the film have the charm and atmosphere of the Burton films, nor the presence of a Batfleck bat. The film is very entertaining in my eyes, but did not excite me as much as Batman 89 and Batman begins.
Saving Sloane (2021)
nothin new in the west
In my opinion, the film is not for any fan of the Ostwind series. Almost every camera shot screams "I'm like Ostwind", but doesn't even manage to reach the narrative level of Ostwind.
Rather, this is simply an attempt to make a brazen copy and swim along on the wave of Ostwind's success. Even the hair color of the main actress has to remind of Ostwind....
The most beautiful thing about the film is the horse.
However, if you want to be undemandingly sprinkled, are a huge horse freak, and still haven't had enough of rebellious teens and supposedly untamable horses after Ostwind Part 4, then you may be able to grab this one on a rummage sale.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Not my Spidey
How do Marvel fans manage to get excited about such a trivial and sterile film?
I am absolutely not a Marvel opponent, so Batman, Wonder Woman, Arrow and Flash are opposed by Wolverine, Blade, Spidey and the Punisher.
Thanks to films like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, DC has managed to get me excited about films whose heroes I didn't care about before. Marvel, on the other hand, has managed to make me dislike heroes I loved from childhood like Wolverine and Spidey. I also liked the Hulk before he could talk.
I like the Tobey Maquire and the Andrew Garfield movies, but since Spidey moved from Sony to Marvel Studios, he's become nothing but an inconsequential goofball within the MCU.
These films don't put Spidey in a good light and just seem like a billboard for other MCU characters and films in the first place. I would just like to see independent Marvel films again that are more oriented towards the characters from the comics. Something like The amazing Spider-Man, Logan, Punisher - Warzone, Deadpool (part 1) and Blade.
Unfortunately, if I like Spider-Man, I always have to be able to put up with other MCU characters, and that's not easy for me with the best will in the world.
Dune: Part One (2021)
sorry, not my movie
After the trailer, I was really looking forward to the film and hoping to be served a new franchise a la Lord of the Rings. In fact, during the film I was already wondering what people thought of it. The film really has everything that is criticised in other films. No proper character introduction, far too little plot blown up over far too much time, far too much CGI, thanks to the colours every camera shot looks the same, and in general the film is missing depth at the back and front.
When I was finally allowed to leave the cinema after what felt like an eternity, I didn't care at all how the story continued. The only interesting character in my eyes was portrayed by Jason Momoa and at the latest in the scene when he sneaks up on enemies from behind and then roars loudly before attacking, this character was too cheesy and stupid for me.
The soundtrack also seemed forcedly epic to me, it was just loud and a mixture of stomping and 1001 Nights. With the soundtrack, however, I still understand that someone might enjoy it. Maybe someone who has read the books and for whom pictures are enough background information will enjoy the film. For me, however, this is a really trivial piece of film with a lack of characterisation and a plot that would just about suffice for a less deep short film.
If I want to see great pictures (without CGI) and with at least the same plot density, unfortunately any animal documentary serves this purpose better.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Bad and my sense of humor
That's Marvel for me and not this Avengers conveyor belt soft wash that's as sterile as a McDonald's and on top of that can't stand on its own. After Blade, Punisher Warzone, Deadpool (only part 1), Logan and the Guardians, finally another Marvel character that rocks \m/.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021)
Kind a joke?
Thats not the Motu story, it's only inspired by.
Bad childish and loveless new interpretation.
Revelations was better in every way.
My child will start with the original series from the 80's if I am able to control.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
not the Resi experience I had in my childhood
I think all the reviews of Pseudo-fons have been faked.... Everyone complains about the story, character development and CGI.
Doesn't anyone but me miss Yawn, Neptune, the giant corocdile, the Web Spinners and the Hunter?!
That's my one big criticism that turns 8 stars into 4 for me.
My Resident Evil experience as a child was that every time I opened a door I was afraid of what was lurking behind it.
I don't know how Roberts played the game, but he didn't seem to care about snakes and other BOWs.
The snake Yawn would have fitted so grandly into the atmosphere.
I could see the attention to detail, but still only half was told here and that's not because of the short playtime of the FIlm, but that more emphasis was put on other things.
Lisa Trevor fits well, but for me she has no meaning at all and is no substitute for all the missing BOWs.
Leon S. Kennedy is not important to me and I'm even glad that I didn't have to endure his boy band hairstyle from the games in the film.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
So many childish haters
Best adaption of an 80's cartoon show I've ever seen. More Store than in the 80's, the characters look great and some losers want the episodes should be the same like the 80's ones... it's more than thirty years later guys! I love the original TVShow, but its 2021 and revelations feels like a love letter tothe original show.
I don't know what you've expected.
Silent Bob you have the power!
Gotham (2014)
Best television series ever
Matchless characters, great setting and a story that rocks so much more than ordenaty action or soap storys.
Aquaman (2018)
Whats Metacritic
They are so damn clueless Marvel fans.
Avengers has got 11 points more than Aquaman? Guardians great, Blade matchless, Deadpool wow, Avengers Infinity war good, but Avengers one and two are only for hardcore fans with a very childish sense for humor and a need for thin storys and bad effects.
Aquaman got a great new world, a lovestory, good jokes at the right time, great characters, Nicole Kidman, William Dafoe, Amber and the greatest Aquaman of all time.
