Very well made a thriller'
I enjoyed every aspect and every minute of this show. I mean what is not there to like. Great direction, tight script, mystery in every frame, suspenseful characters and the past story that lays it out...very well. It's a tense psychological thriller that does not disappoint in any ways. Cate blanchett and Kevin Kline rock in their performances. For Kevin Kline it's probably its best performance so far, at least that I have seen in a long time. He plays exactly the opposite his usual charming self and completely goes out of his comfort zone as an actor with a bewildering performance I would say. Cate does not disappoint either. Don't miss out on this one, it's totally worth your time!
Nobody Wants This (2024)
Good but needed to finish in S1!
This is one of those series which is made well performed well by actors directed well, good screenplay, good background music, but at end of all the episodes needs to end as a limited series. Unfortunately, it does not! It especially seems to have become a thing with Netflix series. I don't know why. Needless to say it generates more revenue from viewing hours for Netflix, but on the other hand, it is becoming a torture for the viewers to not get redemption at the end of a series like this which definitely did not need another season. This story with all its good characters and a good story would have been perfect to finish at the end of season one. It is definitely going to be stretched into next season rather a boring one, I am already predicting and forecasting. Here is the request to Netflix to not stretch what does not need to be. Thanks in advance Netflix! I have taken away one star for that reason alone!

Brilliant, tense thriller! !
I don't know about haters here(don't know what country they come from), but this movie turned out to be a total surprise package for me. It was awesome story, well scripted that was executed well. For those calling Jahnvi wood faced acting, it is her character in the movie that is dumb struck and shell shocked in the story going by what happens to her. What I also liked was the use of intense thriller soundtrack that gels well with the scenes and adds to it without being overdone or loud, something common in Hindi movies. I hope they keep making such intense thrillers which edge on espionage and politics. I loved every minute of this one.
Call Me Bae (2024)
Brilliant Ananya Pandey, enjoyable content
Ananya Pandey has arrived, is the feeling I got while watching this entertaining short series on Amazon prime. She is simply brilliant in this one, it is her show in every which way! The story is easy to follow but different from the crowd of stories we see these days. She stuns you with amazing performance in scene after scene while she is dealing with a totally new city where she is suddenly out of her rich comfort zone environment and luxury living. Going back to basics basically but not giving up. To add to the story is great performances by the other girlfriends she makes in Mumbai who take her through a middle class lifestyle and job journey in a tough city. All in all. Ananya literally carries the program on her shoulders. This is one content that should be a game changer for her career!

Good fun, but why trap the poor cat in a bag?
I enjoyed the entertaining script and performances, totally worth my time as it entertained me throughout though kind of silly and stupid sometimes and the action is just amazing though too filmy and orchestrated kinds. My only big issue with the movie is the cat kept in that tight claustrophobic looking bag throughout the movie. If she was a cat lover she would never keep it in such a bag for so long. Any cat lover would find it painful to watch, even when it's all filmed and fiction. Please don't treat animals like that on the screen even when all fiction. It hurts to watch if you know what I mean.
Mothers' Instinct (2024)
Seriously? Same old same old...
How many movies has had same or similar story which ends like this one? You feel like you started watching something fresh. The two awesome actresses add charm to the script with their lovely presence. However, the story, the climax totally is a let down, as you feel you have seen it tons of time. I would have felt loss of money and time both had I seen it on big screen.i am glad I saw it at home on Amazon prime. Good direction, brilliant cinematography, good production values and brilliant performances. Unfortunately none of these can prevent it from becoming yet another cable tv night movie story that you have seen before many times!! So disappointed that inspire of it having been taken from a so called novel, the climax and the ending makes it a dud!
Hypnotic (2023)
Good entertaining movie, no dull moment
I don't understand the negative comments here on IMDb.the movie was highly entertaining with a good concept, storyline and keeps you on the edge. If the people who have written negative reviews were looking for a Christopher Nolan, go and watch only Christopher Nolan. Different directors with different perspectives will always come up with something out of their idea boxes. Why single out this one? The script was good, the way the story moves, the performances were all good and very entertaining. The storyline keeps you glued to the screen for the length of the movie. The finale climax was phenomenal! I won't spoil it for you. Go watch it on Prime. It's totally worth your time if you are into entertaining thrillers. This one does a good job of it. For ones critiquing it for writing, stop bickering as if you were an Oscar winning writer, and start enjoying fun entertaining cinema as much!

Boring, Disappointing movie!
I was excited and looked forward to watch this one as Todd Haynes movies have all been good so far. But this one just keeps wandering left to right, back to left without going anywhere. It was almost painful to watch after 40 minutes into it but I patiently kept waiting for the script to make some sense. Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore level of performers also can't help save this one. They are both good but...the story doesn't go anywhere, literally! Seems like the director was ready with SOME sort of script and didn't work much on it, or the studio rushed into it with the big actors' names. Totally disappointing!
Sam Bahadur (2023)
Brilliantly made, superbly acted
Watched SAM BAHADUR today. It's brilliantly presented by Meghna Gulzar. But what stays with you is the superb performance of Vicky Kaushal. There is not a single frame where you see Vicky Kaushal, but only the character of Sam Makeshaw played by him, he makes it too believable. He is probably going to win every best actor award next year for a Hindi movie. It's a tough movie to make by a creator as to what not to show from Sam's 40 illustrious years in Indian army, but instead of turning it into a plain vanilla biography, Meghna Gulzar has picked some of his top/well known achievements and scripted it into an enjoyable visual treat. Totally recommended viewing!! Do yourself a favour by watching it only on the big screen or you won't "feel" this gem of a movie.
Disparu à jamais (2021)
The worst Harlan Coben story so far!
I had become a huge fan of Harlan Coben series after watching over 6 of his stories turned into Netflix series. This one however was painful to watch. It's not just slow burn alone. The story is too shallow. There are no usual twists and turns or a major suspense plot. It just tries to confuse and engage the viewer with excessive time jumps between a given 10-15 year period. I could guess who did it in the first episode correctly and thereafter you still keep hoping that there is more in the offing. It just keeps going episode after episode with one minor revelation at the end of each episode. My most favourite Harlan Coben story visualized on Netflix so far is THE INNOCENTS. But now am going to be extra careful with another of his novel based series. Also, Netflix can you please please start ending stories within max of 4 episodes and not drag each of your series into 8-10 episodes for no reason!! Thanks!!
Jawan (2023)
Junk, trash of a story and bad editing
I just could not believe my eyes when i was 30 mins into this piece of trash. How many times was this story done in the 1989s in Hindi as well as South Indian movies? Why is it being repeated shamelessly in 2023? Just because it's SRK movie? Seriously? Then, another major concern is that if this is the future of Tamil-Hindi cinema collaboration, I am happy with watching selected Hindi movies only. Let me explain. Typically Tamil action movies with superstars(like Rajnikant) have each and every action scene either in slow motion or all the vehicles are running in 1.5 times to 2 times the speed, same for bikes! Doesn't stop there, it is exactly the same with dialogues, the last words of a sentence are not over and the editor keeps switching to the other person eith such a speed that even in delicate romantic scenes there is no delicacy. Till the end, it was like watching an anime movie with no respect for a cinema viewer's sensibility. No, this movie is an action movie you will say, but the rhythm of the action, dialigues and Editing is something that probably the Tamil audience is used to watching and I respect that fact. Just that the editing and rhythm is totally different from that of Hindi movies, and Hindi movie viewers are used to a certain rhythm of dialogues, movements, a certain gap between dialogues, etc etc. This Hindi movie directed by a Tamil director feels like you are watching a Tamil movie dubbed in Hindi, in each and every scene!! Throughout you get a feel you are not watching a Hindi movie at all, something is alien, something is missing. All the songs except for the end title one. Do not sound like Hindi movie songs either. If this is how the future of Tamil Hindi movies collaboration looks like, please give us a Hindi movie directed by a Hindi language understanding director only, please please!! This movie was a torture to watch. Hope you understand Hindi movie producers!! Thankyou!!
Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
Why is it so slow after two episodes??
Netflix does it again. I mean what is so hard to achieve when you can wrap a story in 5 episodes that you forcefully drag to 7?? Totally beyond me. If Netflix did that it would have at least three times more watched series on its hands. It begins well, picks up pace by episode 2, then suddenly drops pace, then slower in the next episode and so on. Horrible as to how Netflix has begun to take the viewers time for granted. I mean there is so much content out there and to feel trapped in a super slowed down episode feels wretched to say it honestly! Can you please Netflix, give us more series with lesser numbers of episodes with high pace of script?? Will be grateful.
OMG 2 (2023)
Should be shown in Schools!
Very unique storyline and script. Hats off to the producer for thinking of this concept for a Hindi movie. This movie ought to be shown in all Indian schools. It has the power to bring about a.dramatic change in the way young pre-teens and even teenagers would probably develop a great appreciation about so many facts about their own selves amd that it's not just them that feels like something is wrong with them and so on. Brilliantly scripted, performed by awesome actors.great direction and yes Akshay Kumar charms you as Lord Shiva. He looks phenomenally charming! Go and watch it with your family.
Lust Stories 2 (2023)
Very well made and presented
It is so difficult to create and present a story to that runs for only 30 mins and is to leave a mark on the viewers mind be it the story, performances, script, cinematography and the overall direction. All the four episodes do a great job in delivering all the above. Yes, the stories are very differently placed compared to Lust Stories 1. They are more intricate and not vanilla icecream flavoured like part 2 so not all may appreciate it but they are very well produced and directed. Hats off to the directors, the producers and Netflix for bringing this project to the screen. I liked all four stories but My favourites are Episodes 1 and 3. Episode two by Konkana Sharma was good but I didn't like it technically speaking. Too much of dark lighting, under lighting somehow looked like the director is trying to win some award somewhere, when it is not a dark story but has grey shades to the characters, that's it.
Maybe I Do (2023)
Beautiful movie, well presented
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this movie. Fantastic story and script, perfect casting of characters, lovely dialogues, awesome setting and not a boring moment. What typically happens in such stories is that it either it goes over the top or ends up becoming offbeat. This one plays it perfectly in between with the right amount of scenes without becoming too heavy or ending up too light with the story captured beautifully. Performances by all the big time Hollywood actors are great. Some dialogues that take place between father son and mother daughter are delightful. I reminded them to watch again.
An Action Hero (2022)
Amazing script, refreshing story
Loved the script, never a dull moment, the movie runs so fast but without the feel of an action movie though it is an action thriller. The story is refreshing and one can understand why Ayushmaan selected this script for this role. He plays the key pivotal role smoothly like he was the person he portrays. Everything else in the movie, the other performances, the twists and turns keep you on the edge and engaged. I was not expecting a great movie based on the box office results but this turned out to be a hidden gem kind of surprise. Watch it with an open mind and without expecting it to be like another Ayushmaan Khurana movie. Hoping for more such Hindi flicks!
Your Place or Mine (2023)
Just ok, could be way better
This takes you back to the 90s rom com days but falls short of those days movie magic. The script is not tight and so it drags sometimes. The movie could have been 20 mins shorter as well for a better impact. Only Reese feels like she is performing. Everybody else is just present! Can Netflix please ensure to select its original movies based on not only reliable actors names but also the script, the narrative and yes, a good director. It's a waste of expensive budget with such lavish spending on cast and locations. Hoping sense will prevail in Hollywood and at Metflix. Incidentally, some songs are really good!
Glass Onion (2022)
Why so long and dragging a script
What a waste of budgets; talent and time- I don't understand the high ratings here as well: The premise was good expectations were high after a great part one but slow script killed the fun- 30 minutes shorter the movie could have been a thrill ride maybe- Quite a disappointment- None of the talented actors could help much because of the dragging script and too long scenes: Instead of higher budget spending it would have been way more prudent to make it a speaker sharper version: Team Netflix, longer is not always better: It felt like I was watching some slowl tv series on a precious Friday evening:
The White Lotus (2021)
Season 2 is simply stunning after a great S1
Season 1 was awesome and Season 2 is simply brilliant. Netflix needs to learn from this series which teaches you how not to make a series too long and without boring you and it's dragged on series. In 7 episodes S2 is entertaining, enthralling and holds your interest till the last frame. The direction is simply phenomenal! The performances brilliant. Mark white know how to deliver a stunning series. I am already waiting for Season 3. Wonder what location will it be after Hawaii and Italy, but honestly with Mark White at the helm it doesn't matter actually. The production values, background score, local actors et al is top notch. Thankyou guys!
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)
Amazing effort in a tough cinema marketplace
This movie deserves all the accolades for not only the vfx special effects but the amazing storyline and direction. Lot of people were probably looking for popcorn treatment to the subject which it does not give this story. Instead Ayan Mukherjee takes an experimental route to a Hindi movie story and lightens it up with very unique treatment. I enjoyed it entirely except for the first 20 minutes when I was just not able to connect with the storyline or the dialogues which sounded more like they do in South Indian movies dubbed into Hindi. However once first 20 mins were over, it was a fun, joyful roller coaster ride that the director takes you with him in this wonderful never before seen Hindi movie. Go for it on the big screen, this movie is a waste to watch in the small screen.
Good Luck Jerry (2022)
Well made dark comedy thriller
Yes, it's a dark comedy and a thriller. My takeaway is good story, script but above it all Jahnavi Kapoor! She has arrived guys! So consistent right from the first frame till the last scene, she is consistently into her character, almost flawlessly! The script is consistent until the last 15 mins when it begins to feel like the director wants to wrap up the movie. But overall a surprise package and great fun to watch.
House of Gucci (2021)
Brilliantly entertaining!
Don't go by the average reviews here! This movie starts slowly but very quickly picks up pace and then it's an awesome ride along with characters, good and bad! Or maybe neither, it's all grey here in Gucci land. Most of us probably didn't know about this family's background or the people they were. Highly entertaining, another good piece of cinema by Ridley Scott. Keep it up!!
The Fame Game (2022)
The greed for more episodes when can be done in less
It has become a trend to stretch a story beyond what it can. Totally defines the greed of the producers for earning more money. Problem is that ends up becoming a major headache for the viewer which is rather frustrating! This one started on a highly promising note with Madhuri rocking in each and every frame but the story and screenplay drag...This could have been avoided had it all been packed in a tight 6 episodes instead of 8. A good example would be Bestseller(Shruti Hassan) on Amazon Prime, perfectly finishes when it should. Dharma productions need to learn that for the upcoming ones.
Atrangi Re (2021)
Below average, bad script, bad direction
I am going to stop watching movies produced or directed by Anand L Rai. Crap movies one after the other. Usually run of the mill, cliched stories and nothing new that could be enthralling. And then the lack of good scripting. Even a normal story can be turned into good storytelling with a great script. His movies are usually weak on scripts. Anyways, I won't be watching any of his upcoming movies no matter what actors he takes(including Akshay kumar in an upcoming one..) Goodbye!
Bestseller (2022)
Very entertaining, good acting by Shruti!
I don't understand the negative reviews here. I mean it sounds more like they saw the first episode, left it there without giving it an opportunity and wrote the reviews here. I enjoyed the fast paced script which worked like a good mystery suspense script. Yes, the suspense is blown three episodes before the last one but it retains the thrill factor and the quotient. Totally deserves a watch!
