A Family Affair (2024)
not sure why...
Not sure why this movie gets so much hate, i don't think it was any worse than the "idea of you" movie, and i don't htink nicole kidman looks that old? I mean, maybe more so than anne hathaway but first of all, we don't need to compare people. And second, zac efron is also older than i think the guy in the idea of you movie is.
And i thought the chemistry was good... and i didn't think the script was bad? I thought it was quite relatable. Made me tear up at certain points when i definitely expected not to. I kinda clicked on this movie expecting it to be bad. But i was bored and had nothing else to watch.
So i was shocked when the reviews are all like "their faces are plastic, nicole looks old, zac and nicole has no chemistry, the script is bad, zac and zoey have better chemistry than them, etc etc" because i maybe thought the possible criticisms can be that the movie is a bit too naive? Like, maybe people may complain that the ending is too happy and unrealistic but come on, if the movie actually ends sad for either the mom's love life or the daughter's career no one would want to watch it, i don't think.
West Side Story (2021)
i wish i can give it a good review but
It PAINS me to give it a 1 but my God can we please stop having Ansel Elgort in projects I can't stand him. He may be talented but no amount of talent can help me stomach the allegations against him. Like i couldn't bear to watch any scenes wehre he's singing solo or just focus on him and had to skip it.
Why do directors continue to hire him and why does it seems like no one cares about the allegations against him? They are pretty serious stuff, like doesn't it merit at least a bit of a stir?
Im against cancel culture but with ansel elgort i feel like there is something amiss here;. A conspiracy? Lol i sound like a weirdo now but hope u know what i mean.
Ted K (2021)
wtf
Why would you make a film that romanticizes a serial killer like wtf.
Tbf i didnt even finish the movie yet but just wanted to start w a bad review cuz i hate the fact that this movie was made.
Prometheus (2012)
its a scare but
Annoying acting. Did not like the main girl and the way she executed her acting, i felt like it was too over the top in every way and was distracting me from the movie. Also the scares weren't the good kind of scares, just those kinds of gross-i-dont-wanna-imagine-human-body-in-that-twisted-form kind of scary. Be my guest if you wanna be disgusted-scared for 2 hrs.
Army of the Dead (2021)
horrible soundtrack
Horrible soundtrack. Had to turn the movie off twice because of the songs were so freakin annoying. Finally got through the movie the third time. The description says it's a thriller but there's absolutely no suspense whatsoever.
Sex Education (2019)
my honest opinion
I gave it a shot and it did start off fairly well.
But as it went along it kind of fell straight down hill.
None of the story plots were relatable to me, the characters are very clustered towards one type of people. There should be more variety in personalities.
Midnight Mass (2021)
wtf?
To begin with, this is a show that needs your time and patience. Time and patience that i do not have. But it had such good ratings i was curious. The show has a drunk drive killer as its main character. I rest my case.
Chernobyl (2019)
it;s really not a documentary
I guess it is called a "dramatization" of the true events for a reason, a bit of a stretch in all its depictions and i really do think that this show is overrated, hence my 1 star. I think it's worth around 3 stars but its ratings are ridiculously high. Yes those people were heroes but this show is a separate matter.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
wtf?
How does this have such good reviews? This show was absolute garbage compared to the original dexter... but then again, the later half of the original show was a constant downhill, so shouldnt be surprised.
Encounter (2021)
couldnt finish watching
It got me hooked in the beginning but about halfway through i realized it's just one of those "psychological delusion" movies. The movie Fractured was like that. And a number of other movies that think the whole delusion thing is like the best plottwist ever but it's just lazy writing. I get that it shows war PTSD and how bad it is but it just wasnt' my cup of tea. I was expecting a scifi/survival/thriller movie but was really disappointed when it just slowly confirmed my suspicions.
Deadly Garage Sale (2022)
didn't like it
The editing kinda put me off, the fade to black and then the next scene starting is some imovie-level transitions, it almost made me laugh out loud. The title was also really off-putting, i would have no clue what genre the movie is let alone what the movie is about.
Last Survivors (2021)
didn't really like it
Couldn't understand half of the dialogue, the storyline is pretty shallow. The ending was completely unsatisfactory and didn't feel like it wrapped up the story at all. So what happens to Jake now? And Alicia suddenly goes back to the city after feeling borderline suicidal? She needs psychological help. And her family should support that. But she just all of a sudden becomes happy and she's completely fine going back to her old life.
