The Beekeeper (2024)
Name dropping gone wrong
Please could the script writer of this movie find another vocation, one very far away from script writing.
This could have been a good movie, but the script is flat, dull and common. Actors get judged by their work but that is unfair if they are given rubbish to start with.
I have seen actors ad lib better than this. Jeremy Irons is an academy award winning actor, I guess he also has to pay the rent but to sink to this level, he must be desperate.
Jason Statham has had us in stitches when paired with a funny script and decent actors and his action sequences are a thing of beauty, but in this film his character is lifeless, almost zombie-like.
This is such a terrible film, I gave up half way and decided to express myself here, which I rarely do.
Please be warned, if you watch this film you will have wasted one hour and forty five minutes that you will never get back.
I am only rambling on because some dimwit at I M D B decided to set a rule that all reviews must contain more than six hundred characters. That is the same level of intelligence that the script writer of this film has. People that dumb should not be able to breathe.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
And Fall They Should
1 star for the mere presence of Idris Elba. That's it. This film should never have been made, the cost of production and the notion of paying to see it should be criminalized. The script is pathetic, the soundtrack is pathetic, the plot is pathetic. I'm not often this critical but when I am. It is deserved.
Moonfall (2022)
please stop
I just wanted the movie to end, set off the damn EMP bomb and be done with it. The entire story was so beyond anything credible, aliens built the moon? So advanced they eradicated war but the AI they create pulled a terminator on them? Come on, who writes this garbage and worse: gets paid for it.
Blacklight (2022)
Found something better to do...
Show me a review of this movie with anything more than 3 out of 10 and I'll show you someone either blind or so easily pleased they'd get excited watching grass grow or paint dry. Neeson should stop, must stop. There are younger, more talented actors to play these roles. Script sounded prosthetic, soundtrack felt like treacle. Gave it a try, found something better to do...
Son (2021)
Ever notice...
...how some reviewers tend to say the same thing no matter what the movie? KWENCHOW is a perfect example. Complete morons like that are the reason why you should never judge a movie by the reviews. Nobody can ever tell you what your experience will be. You gotta do it for yourself. Watch the damn movie, if you like it, great. If you don't, shame.
But please, KWENCHOW and others: STOP THE FAKE REVIEWS!!! GET A LIFE DOING SOMETHING MORE WORTHWHILE!!!
Good movie, by the way...
Goliath (2016)
I'm used to better...
I don't know who did the actual writing but this is not as good as many other TV series I've seen by Kelley. I think they've gone too far with the characters, Cooperman is reclusive, disfigured, eccentric, obsessive over his damn clicker... how much more do you want to throw at us? The best characters are the simple ones that the audience can relate to. McBride is allegedly brilliant, but washed up because he went off the rails because he got a murderer off and the murderer murdered again, wtf did he think was going to happen? He confronts the cop who harassed him instead of putting a tail on him and finding out who he was working for. The whole thing feels amateurish and not very well thought out.
The actors have had better material to work with and this is a great way to prove that a good actor cannot always redeem a poor script.
Finch (2021)
...up there is like swiss cheese...
...and that is exactly what this movie is, swiss cheese... full of holes and clichèd, but then it wouldn't be swiss cheese without the holes and the clichès. Sometimes it's nice just to simplify things without all the action and suspense that we have been programmed to want (pun intended). Just a simple story and if you are disappointed, look in the mirror.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
I tried...
... I really did. I always try to give every movie a chance, to give it the benefit of the doubt. I wasn't expecting anything great or serious, I was hoping for simple entertainment, which I got very little of. If you look at this as a spoof then maybe, just maybe it can hold a little water. Action/Comedy? Not by a long shot, I've seen better, much better.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Just Entertainment
People leaving bad reviews are not nearly as smart as they think, or as they want you to think, they are. It is not a PhD thesis, it is only entertainment. Full of plot holes and cliches but entertaining none the less. Really, life is not that serious.
Luca (2021)
Good fun
Something a little different for a change, just a good animation, timeless story of friendship, betrayal, forgiveness and learning through life. Don't ever lose sight of the child inside.
Boss Level (2020)
Takes a better turn than most time loop stories.
Give it a watch, it's good. Frank Grillo is credible, Mel Gibson is loathsome, I enjoyed the ride.
Minamata (2020)
If you have a soul...
...this movie will move you. I found the line about a photo taking a piece of the photographer's soul poignant, as is the whole movie. It is predictable but that is just part of telling this type of story. The portrayal of simple, humble humanity in terrible circumstances lifted this movie from the depressing to the sublime.
The Misfits (2021)
Believe the bad reviews.
It's just terrible, as pathetic as the loser father Brosnan plays.
Infinite (2021)
The cars were nice...
I watched up to about half way, thin plot, less than good acting, Mark Whalberg is capable of better and you should look for better than this display of mediocrity.
What Happened to Monday (2017)
Good Movie = Terrible Reviews
Ignore all the bad reviews, this is a good movie with a bit of everything. It is only entertainment, after all. I honestly think there are some reviewers who simply cannot find anything positive to say about anything, their lives are simply that empty.
