It's a little slow film. A family on vacation are lost Their family member are killed. A claustrophobic story with an excellent performance by Jaaved Jaaferi, Vijay Raaz and Niki Walia. The boy who does prank is also very good in the film. The scares were... well there weren't many. Don't expect Lupt to be an exclusive horror film. Its a thriller and focussing more on emotional drama. like i said its a slow film. The direction is not bad. Story could have been better. what i liked the best is the title song. Very well composed. The makers should have promoted the title track of the film instead, they heavily promoted "Bhoot Hoon Mai song". The ending was a little fumbled, but otherwise it was quite enjoyable for me. 6/10

During lockdown the only entertainment was watching movies. Got to see Lupt on Netflix. There were some common horror cliches here. No network, car breakdown, getting lost on a strange road. However, I think that thats the case with most horror films. Moral of the story - always follow the known road and don't take shortcuts on trips because people that are close to you will either get murdered by a ghost, or go crazy, do something stupid and kill themselves. Nothing really special. Jaaved Jaaferi was good, Vijay Raaz is always the best, Rishab's comic timing was not bad, others were average. Story could have been better. Dialogues were ok. Direction was not bad. VFX not good. Although the plot twist was slightly predictable this was an overall one time watch for me. Giving 5/10

The story line may be little week but the actors make everything really interesting to watch. The Sam character doing prank is enjoyable and he gets sympathy as the film progresses. Direction is good. The end could have been better. Vijay Raaz is very good in what ever he does. Dialogues given to him are nice.
But in horror genre its interesting to watch a clean film with family members.
Giving 5/10

Watched this Hindi movie with subtitles and like sat through. Acting of some actors are good. The direction is neat. It is emotional film. Yes not scary. Simple story. The background music is good but in some places its little loud. VFX could have been better. This father character acted very well and the stranger on the road also acted very well. Like the momentum of few scenes. giving 5/10

I liked the movie because with a fair amount of suspense and twists. But it not that great either. So I'll admit that it isn't completely worthless. I think for its budget its a fairly decent movie. I will say that I liked the whole usage of the car. The script could have been bit better. Direction is not bad. Acting is decent. Over all a good timepass for me to see something different in horror genre.

Be aware, this is a slow burn atmospheric horror with FEW jump scares and an emotional horror movie. So if that's not your thing, best skip it. But damn is it pretty decent film for me. I haven't seen many horror film which emphasises on characters and its story. LUPT, It doesn't end up as well as it starts out, but the ride there is exceptional. This movie though while keeping a decent atmosphere, delivers not many scares but delivers some good performances by great actors like Jaaved Jaaferi and Vijay Raaz. Their performances left positive impressions, few scene caused genuine fear in me, and the writing was pretty good. As i said its emotional drama. You can most certainly pass on this one if you are looking for typical horror. I enjoyed this slow paced horror.

My friend suggested me to watch Lupt saying it's a good horror movie. I have read some good reviews about this film. So took a chance and watched Lupt on Netflix. I wanted to see horror in the film, but it turned out to be a thriller for me. Not that movie is bad but its not my kind of film. Yes, the premise was good, but it is more of drama and some lengthy scenes. I don't think typical horror fans will like this film. The movie should have been promoted as a thriller and not as horror. Maybe I watched the full film because of Vijay Raaz and some good scenes of Jaaved Jaaferi. I am giving 5 stars for only for its decent acting and to the director for taking so much effort and making a film. If the director could have managed to tweak the story and make it a hardcore horror ,it would have been worked according to me.

I liked the nuances of the character and the setting. Movie has slow pacing, does not mean that the movie is bad. It is intriguing and entertaining. It todays time who would make such movie. But the director went out of the way to dare and make this film. It has no sex and no item numbers. Its straight to the point.
Few scenes are very well treated. Like the character of Vijay Raaz. Jaaved Jaaferi is loud in some scenes but he is performed very well. He has never done such film in his life. Liked the intensity in his performance.
Iam in the spree of watching all horror movies at home now.

I saw the ratings here and prolonged watching LUPT. I usually find few Bollywood horror movies with unnecessary songs and sex, so keep myself away from such movies but with my friend's protests, I gave it a go. This film isn't going to make me think about it for days but it did hold my attention whilst watching it. Overall I felt this movie was better than the typical horror movies that come out every year. The story is not new but its presentation is very good. Again not for hardcore horror movie fans as this film is character-driven and not that scary. I am a great fan of Vijay Raaz. He is fabulous in the film. But his culmination in the film could have been better.
It may not be the perfect horror film, but the spooky atmosphere, brilliant acting, great sound effects, decent cinematography and good direction make up for the drawbacks in the movie. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews of a few critics and watched it with an open mind. As Directorial debut of Prabhuraj, I would say he has done an excellent job in "Lupt" and has a bright future ahead. I've rounded the number to 7 for its effort in making a decent psychological thriller. Overall I liked the movie.

The story is ok, the script could have been better, the movie has a nice suspense but the movie is very slow in the middle, the acting of some artists are poor..it can be watched if you have nothing better to watch..but the movie mood is ok for a suspense movie..

I thought I'd give this a try as the plot description seemed interesting. How wrong was I. Massive waste of time, there is so real story with any explanation, there is no reasoning for this "ghost". Things just happen for no reason and nothing adds up in the whole film, it also has copied lots of parts of other Hollywood films. Generally the story just lacks any actual cohesion and doesn't make any sense. Avoid it. This could have been a decent film if they had actually showed more expiation for everything happening and a better build up, however they leave all the explanation till the very end of the film, until then everyone has already lost their interest in the movie.
It's a little slow but i enjoyed. I wanted to see more of Vijay Raaz's scenes. He's incredible and all the movies are great that he's in. Jaaved Jaaferi is good as well in this movie. Minakshi Dixit was good. The dialogues and characters' demeanour are genuine and authentic. Loved few scenes. some scenes are very slow and thats the beauty of the film i believe. I found Sam's character to be annoying, but he quickly turned creepy throughout the film. Direction is not bad. What i dint like is theVFX part, they could've done a better job. Second half could have been edited a bit. Having said that, I gotta confess that I wasn't bored by it. It was relatively watchable. My rating 6/10

Movie is not that good as it should be, Vijay Raaj's acting was good... it was having some illogical scene that doesn't make any sense... Javed sir's acting was below average... Some sections of the movie is slow paced.

During lockdown was searching for a horror movie and came across Lupt on Netflix. Lupt is a decent movie and yes not very gory and thankfully no sex and unnecessary songs. Direction is good, screenplay is good but storyline is same old and cliche. I liked Niki Walia and Vijay Raaz. Jaaved Jaaferi at some scenes i felt he over acted or may be the scene demanded. Rishab Chadha was good. Meenakshi is not bad. others were average.
Overall it is a decent bollywood horror.

I watched this movie Netflix by chance. I just watched it because of the trailer and plot line. Iam not a big horror fan but yes iam fan of Vijay Raaz so i was curious to see the film but deep down, i new it was not going to be great as most Bollywood horror movies are generally without any story and the emphasis is only on sex and songs but to my surprise the movie turned out to be decent and enjoyable.
May be i liked this film because of its simplicity. Also i liked Jaaved Jaaferi performance and loved to see Niki Walia after long time. I was big fan of hers when she used to do television.
Minus some actors other acted very well. Let me say again that the film is not very very great but there is something very nice about the plot and execution yes and satisfying for me.
Just watch the film without any expectation of major horror and you will love the story and thrill aspect.
Kudos to the writer, director who tried something different for his directorial debut film.
Im going with 8/10

It's a decent thriller about a car breakdown that delivers a very interesting ghost story. Usually I don't enjoy horror movies because most of them are typically made masala movie, but this one is what I always expected from such a movie, a decent story told in a simple manner yet kept the interest with good performances. Loved the performances of Jaaved Jaaferi and Vijay Raaz. Rishab Chadha kept entertaining. Niki Walia comeback was good. Rest were average in their performances. Direction is not bad. I loved the slow pace of scenes which not everybody will enjoy. For me, it worked. Giving 6/10

Now this movie truly deserves the term 'Psychological Horror'. It's exactly how a good horror movie has to be. Suspenseful and intriguing storyline. Very well directed. I don't want to reveal any spoilers here, but wanted to see more of Vijay Raaz. I enjoyed this film because I like to see content based cinema. Above all my parents loved the film. Good film during Covid-19. But mind you, If you are a hardcore horror fan and love Slasher Movies then Lupt is not for you. You will be disappointed. This film is more on emotions and on the lines of Thriller and not just a typical horror movie. The director tried to tell a decent story which was very well supported by brilliant actors like Jaaved Jaaferi, Vijay Raaz, Niki Walia and Meenakshi Dixit. Thankfully there is no songs to disrupt the story. Yes, it had an opening song which was used for promotions. I loved the title song. Technically the film is good & successfully enhances the thrilling effect for the audience.
