Two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan, are teaming up and getting back into business with Netflix.

Netflix announced today, November 19, that the father-son duo would executive produce an untitled “Bollywood series” about an outsider breaking into the Hindi film industry. The show will be created and directed by Aryan Khan in what will be his directorial debut, while Srk’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, will executive produce the series.

According to Netflix, Khan’s untitled series is about “a charming, ambitious outsider [who] navigates the dazzling yet uncertain world of Bollywood.” Netflix adds that the series “blends self-aware humor with a high-stakes narrative — and promises a host of wicked cameos, blockbuster thrills and an unforgettable ride into the world of Indian cinema.”

Exclusive: Major Mumbai-based production outfit Reliance Entertainment has expanded its stable by establishing a joint venture with filmmaker Ribhu Dasgupta, Film Hangar, through which he will exclusively make movies for Reliance.

Dasgupta is in-demand having recently helmed the Indian remake of The Girl On The Train, which stars Parineeti Chopra and debuts on Netflix on February 26. His credits also include the feature film TE3N starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (which Reliance released theatrically), TV series Yudh, also with Amitabh Bachchan, the feature Michael, starring Naseeruddin Shah, and recently Bard Of Blood, which is also on Netflix.

Netflix released lists of its most popular content in Japan, Korea, India and Malaysia on Monday, showing that a mix of American shows and local language content best captured hearts and eyeballs in Asia this year — with Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” the only title that proved a top hit in all territories.

Netflix said the most-watched lists had been made by tallying the number of accounts that had streamed at least two minutes of the content in question during its first 28 days on the platform in 2019.

In Japan, five out of ten of the top ten works of the year are Netflix originals. Three are animated, while a fourth is a live-action adaptation of an anime. The top-viewed content was the semi-biographical live-action Japanese-language series “The Naked Director,” which chronicles Japan’s porn industry in the 1980s through the story of real-life, controversial adult video director Toru Muranishi, played by Takayuki Yamada.

Netflix has unveiled its most popular titles internationally with true-crime doc The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann topping the UK list and Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston comedy Murder Mystery leading in Australia.

In India, Bollywood romantic drama Kabir Singh was the most popular release, while the second season of gritty Indian crime drama, Sacred Games, topped the series list. There are also lists for France and Germany (below).

The streamer hasn’t officially revealed the methodology, but the list is thought to have been based on the number of accounts in each country that have watched at least two minutes of a title during its first 28 days on Netflix this year. For series, only the most popular season is counted and for shows and movies that have been released recently, the rankings are based on 28-day projections derived from the initial sampling.

Actor Kirti Kulhari, who is currently enjoying the success of her recently released film Mission Mangal, has had a busy 2019 and already has recieved much critical and audience acclaim!

The actor started her year with two back to back releases i.e Blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike and Amazon’s Four More Shots Please, followed by a short film titled Maya and now Mission Mangal.

Says a source, “After wrapping the promotions of Uri and Four More Shots Please, Kirti immediately got into the promotions of her first-ever short film Maya, for which she received Best Actor (Female) Award in the short film category of Filmfare awards, soon after that, she started shooting for Netflix series Bard of the Blood, followed by film Bataasha in Rajasthan Bataasha in Rajasthan. Kirti plays a musician in Bataasha. Soon after, the actor started shooting for the second season of Four More Shots Please in Udaipur.

In the opening scenes of the two-and-half-minute trailer, we see Indian spies being taken prisoners and executed in Balochistan, Pakistan. Netflix today dropped the trailer for its much-anticipated Netflix Original series, Bard of Blood, produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The story is based on the book of the same name, penned by the young Indian author, Bilal Siddiqi, which released in 2015. The story will be brought to life as a seven-episode high-octane thriller series for more than 151 million members around the world. The series will stream on Netflix from 27th September 2019.

The series features a commercially successful and critically acclaimed cast that includes Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Rajit Kapoor, amongst others. The series is created by Bilal Siddiqi & Gaurav Verma and is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, which is about four Indian intelligence officers belonging to the Indian Intelligence Wing (Iiw) who are compromised before they can relay an important piece of information to India. They get captured and are about to be decapitated.

The "Bard of Blood" is a 2015 novel written by Bilal Siddiqi. The story revolves around Kabir Anand, a former Research and Analysis Wing (Raw) agent and is now a professor in Mumbai.

Although he was forced to leave after a failure of his mission in Balochistan, now he is called back after his former boss is killed.

The Netflix series will be co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan.

The main cast includes Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amyra Dastur, Shashank Arora, Kirti Kulhari. It is slated to release on September 27.

Kirti Kulhari has started shooting for the Bollywood remake of "The Girl On The Train" in London, and she has shared a picture from the set where she is seen with the film's heroine Parineeti Chopra.

Actress Kirti Kulhari has been roped in for the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film "The Girl On The Train".

The shooting for superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming Netflix production venture "Betaal" has wrapped up.

Actress Aahana Kumra, who is starring in the show, took to Twitter and shared a photograph of herself along with Shah Rukh and wrote: "It's a wrap for 'Betaal' and I'm still soaking in the time we spent chatting with you sir last night! Happy friendship day. Gratitude."
