Actress Kirti Kulhari has reminisced about her character Jannat in Bard Of Blood on the one-year anniversary of the web series, saying it is the kind of role an actor lives for.
"Even when I utter the character's name, it hits me how gorgeous she is as a character. The character has been quite strongly etched in the people's minds and hearts," said Kirti.

National security, terror threats and intelligence-ops make for ready thriller scripts across cinematic formats. The Ott space, with its multi-episodic structure, allows a longer time frame for stories to gestate, and that would definitely seem like an advantage while telling such tales, over the limited runtime of feature films.

Netflix released lists of its most popular content in Japan, Korea, India and Malaysia on Monday, showing that a mix of American shows and local language content best captured hearts and eyeballs in Asia this year — with Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” the only title that proved a top hit in all territories.
Netflix said the most-watched lists had been made by tallying the number of accounts that had streamed at least two minutes of the content in question during its first 28 days on the platform in 2019.
In Japan, five out of ten of the top ten works of the year are Netflix originals. Three are animated, while a fourth is a live-action adaptation of an anime. The top-viewed content was the semi-biographical live-action Japanese-language series “The Naked Director,” which chronicles Japan’s porn industry in the 1980s through the story of real-life, controversial adult video director Toru Muranishi, played by Takayuki Yamada.

Netflix is continuing to experiment with a new trick to entice first-time subscribers — making the first episode of season three of The Crown available for free in the UK.
Netflix has carried out similar tests with other shows in India and South America, and the hope is that by giving British viewers a taste of its big-ticket Left Bank Pictures drama, it will encourage them to sign-up to Netflix for the full series.
The free episode will launch at the same time as the rest of the series on November 17, and will be made available on a dedicated site (netflix.com/thecrown) up until December 15.
It coincides with The Crown undergoing a huge transformation nearly two years after the last series premiered on Netflix. Gone are Claire Foy and Matt Smith as the Queen and Prince Philip, replaced by Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies. Other new cast members include Helena Bonham Carter...

When Olivia Colman steps into the royal shoes of Queen Elizabeth II, viewers in the U.K. and Ireland will be able to watch for free as Netflix makes the eagerly awaited Season 3 curtain-raiser available gratis.
The streaming giant will launch the series opener on a dedicated site for a limited period starting Sunday, making it available to subscribers and non-subscribers alike. Of course, only paying customers can go on to watch the full season.
This is the first time that Netflix has allowed non-members in Europe to sample its content in this way. The U.S. streaming giant is advertising the promotion Wednesday in Stylist, a free lifestyle magazine available to commuters at public transport stations.
Launching “The Crown” opener for free in Britain is fitting, not just because of its subject matter but because the show was the first global Netflix original to be produced and filmed in Britain.

Freeform is developing a “Dante’s Inferno” drama series, a reimagining of the 14th century epic poem set in present-day Los Angeles, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.
The series is described as following Grace Dante, “who thought her life sucked. Between parenting her drug addict mother and her troubled brother, our 20-something hero has had to give up all her dreams. Then one day everything changes and her dreams start magically coming true, school, career, love… but the godfather of all this good fortune is the Devil himself. And to outwit him, she’ll have to journey through Dante’s Inferno.”
Dante Alighieri’s narrative poem “The Divine Comedy,” widely considered one of the greatest works of Western literature, is told in three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso, or Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. The poem tells the soul’s journey towards God in the afterlife, told from a medieval world view.
