Anna’s lot in life takes an optimistic turn when it comes to fame and family as a sinister force asserts control and ‘AHS: Delicate’ teases its grander plans.
“Is it a boy, Mary?”
“It is a monster.”
Pregnancy horror stories can go down many different directions, whether they’re tales where disturbed individuals attempt to steal a healthy infant, evil offspring scenarios, or any variety of films where a dark pact is made with the Devil or some kind of malevolent magic. American Horror Story: Delicate has kept its audience guessing when it comes to its newborn neuroses, but “Vanishing Twin” pulls back the veil a little when it comes to the dark fate that’s befallen Anna. Answers are appreciated when it comes to any of this seasons’ broader mysteries, but AHS: Delicate’s fable-like explanation feels strangely out of place. It amounts to another installment that’s full of promise,...

“American Horror Story: Delicate” is off to a brutally bland start. We’re already three weeks into the series’ first attempt at a book adaptation for the FX horror show — a mainstay in seasonal television disappointments, now in its twelfth installment — and next to nothing has happened.
Set against contemporary Hollywood via Manhattan (and later the Hamptons), author Danielle Valentine’s “Delicate Condition” could have provided the basis for a decent limited series or possibly a movie. But AHS needed something meatier than a middling “Rosemary’s Baby” redux to keep the anthology’s rapidly diminishing legacy from swirling down the drain like hormone-riddled pee. And yet somehow, Ryan Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk have let a series that once had Frances Conroy cannibalizing a still-alive Adina Porter become excruciatingly boring.

It’s been almost 12 years to the day since Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk unleashed “American Horror Story” on the genre-loving masses. Not many of us queerdo TV fans have stuck around long enough to enjoy the ongoing “American Horror Story: Delicate,” at least judging Season 12 by the series’ earlier viewership numbers.
But even with the show’s spectacularly uneven quality and Murphy’s unfailing ability to drop the ball mid-way through a decent story, the creepy-yet-campy anthology remains an undeniable staple of horror TV and FX offerings. It’s got a smaller fanbase these days, sure. But we’re still thriving — constantly theorizing about how the seasons are interconnected and assembling some of the funniest clip compilations on the internet.
On October 5, 2011, the co-creators and executive producers known for “Nip/Tuck,” “Glee,” and more wacky dramedy classics premiered the first episode of what was retroactively titled “American Horror Story: Murder House.

At this year’s Gamescom we tried to stack our schedule with as many horror (or horror-adjacent) titles as we possibly could.
Rushing around the expansive halls of the Koelnmesse venue — trying to make each of our back-to-back appointments — we barely had chance to catch our breath across the jam-packed three days we were there. Among other things, we previewed nearly an hour of Alan Wake 2, got the inside scoop on Still Wakes the Deep, had a lengthy hands-on session with Lords of the Fallen, and then went on a perilous expedition into the bowels of Moria.
But that only represents a small fraction of the exciting projects we saw here. In addition to those big tentpoles, we also took a look at the efforts of some plucky solo devs and indie studios who’ve been working away on interesting little titles that you might be sleeping on.

In 2017, following eight losses throughout the preceding decade, Ryan Murphy finally achieved his first competitive PGA Award win for producing the first iteration of “American Crime Story,” aka “The People v. O.J. Simpson.” Two years later, his work on the show’s second season – “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” – led to him becoming one of the inaugural honorees in the Best Limited Series PGA category (which was established to separate such programs from TV movies). Now, according to Gold Derby’s odds, he is heavily favored to triumph there again as the producer of Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
70% of the Gold Derby users who have made predictions for this particular race are anticipating a “Monster” victory. Nearly all of the remaining top choice votes have been thrown toward “The Dropout,” with “Pam and Tommy,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Inventing Anna” all receiving relatively little support. Summer this year has been killer. Between record breaking heat waves, humidity that matches running a hot shower with the door shut, and just overall unpleasantness, it would come as no surprise that some people are looking to get away. Be it a cabin in the mountains, a house on the beach shore, or if you’re anything like me a secluded desert getaway.
But how do you get your horror game fix on vacations? Nintendo solved this issue with the release of Nintendo Switch back in 2017. The tiny hybrid console has been no stranger to great horror experiences and today we’ll run through the best horror games you can currently play right now on the Nintendo Switch… on the road to Halloween!
Resident Evil (2002)
What hasn’t been said about this one? The 2002 remake of the Capcom game that invented the survival horror genre holds up exceptionally even after 20 years.

We finally have news about American Horror Story Season 11! The new season of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology will premiere in the fall, FX chairman John Landgraf announced during his virtual executive session at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. That puts it on track to premiere about a year after Season 10 ended — and fittingly, just in time for Halloween. The first five seasons premiered in October, the next four in September, and the 10th in August. As a result, that last one was the only one not to air new episodes around Halloween (with the finale on October 20). We are still waiting for any details about what Season 11 will entail. So far, the first 10 seasons have been titled Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, and Double Feature, with the occasional crossover. What we do know is that it won’t be the last.

The 11th season of Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” will premiere this fall on FX.
FX chairman John Landgraf revealed the news during his executive Q&a session at the cable channel’s virtual presentation at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour Tuesday.
The debut date announcement marks the first news of “AHS” Season 11, an installment fans have been clamoring for info about since Season 10, “American Horror Story: Double Feature,” concluded in October 2021. That 10th season was split into two stories, “Red Tide” and “Death Valley.”
Landgraf gave no specific premiere date for “American Horror Story” Season 11 beyond “fall,” though the fact a time frame has been given at all means there’s a good chance Murphy will be sharing the title, theme and cast for the upcoming season in the coming months.
