Office Uprising is the latest in a spate of office themed horror movies, and you know what? It's kind of good.
It follows a young office employee having the worst shift of his life as overnight everyone in his building turns psychotic thanks to a mysterious new energy drink.
Starring Zachary "Shazam" Levi, Gregg Henry, Kurt Fuller, Karan "Dopinder from Deadpool" Soni and Alan "Former Aquaman" Ritchson the movies cast manage to deliver in this enjoyable comedy horror.
Hyper violent, frantic, yet with substance and a lot of well done comedy this was one of those unknown little gems I'm really glad I watched. Sure it's far from flawless but it managed to entertain and that's something most of it's ilk seem incapable of doing lately.
But something has to be addressed, this is advertised as a zombie movie! I know zombies are "In" but stop lying! Zombies are undead for crying out loud, stop claiming that every movie where people turn violent is a zombie film! I seem to have developed a real chip on my shoulder about that, it's just rampant and dishonest.
Office Uprising is an enjoyable take your brain out 90 minutes of violence and laughs, it does exactly what it says on the tin...................minus the zombies.
The Good:
Stylish
Some great comedy
Cast deliver (Especially Levi)
The Bad:
NOT a zombie film

A fresh new take on "zombie" genre and filled with laughs, heart, and a ton of kickass fun. Totally worth it!

This movie is exactly what I expected going into it. It's got a straightforward premise where these guys are locked in at a office building with zombie-like workers. I like the premise. I also liked the chemistry between the Brenton Thwaite, Jane Levy and Karan Soni. Zachary Levi as the villain worked. There's violence and blood if you're into that type of movies.

So, slacker worker bee in accounting lazes his way in life until the company is exposed to something and almost everyone turns violent. With tongue in cheek black comedy. And if you've seen any film of this nature, you know exactly what is going to unfold. Decently done and the funny is good and the violence nicely bloody. But nothing much more than that.

Twisted humorous zombie flick. That's really all you need to know. Lots of B-Grade zombie stuff that when cooked up just right comes out better than expected. This is kind of like taking Office Space style workplace lampooning to a much more ridiculous level. Brenton Thwites as the young office slacker hits it long here. It moves pretty quickly past the usual setup of merging with that magic downsizing. Just a stupid romp that ends up scoring. Also worth noting: the talented Zachary Levi gets his screen time to show how whack he can reach playing control obsessive accountant A Nusbaum gone power mad.

The movie began on a promising note, impressing me initially. However, my expectations were soon shattered as it took a sharp turn towards absurdity and silliness. The film lacked substance, relying heavily on mindless humor, which only caters to those seeking brainless entertainment. Amidst scattered comedic moments, the movie was riddled with excessive violence and a chaotic narrative that left me baffled. It felt like a mishmash of disjointed ideas, leaving me wondering how I managed to endure the entire experience. Rather than a well-crafted film, it felt like a comical apocalypse, stretching the boundaries of silliness to the extreme.

This film tells story of an office worker for a weapons manufacturer, whose co-workers are turned into zombies by an energy drink.
The film actually starts out not too bad and quite funny. However once the horror/zombie bit comes in, it falls apart. The horror effects are good. Plenty of blood and gore but it gets a bit dull. Some of the effects are pretty poor. The jokes fall flat. There is little action. Its not really that scary or gory.
Although it was well acted, I had no connection to the characters. I really didn't care by the end what happened to them.
It is a shame as there is some great acting and the first bit of the film shows promise. It would probably been better if it had been kept as a straight office comedy rather than trying to make it a horror.

It started out good, there were a number of funny scenes like the old lady, and the deadpool guy cracked me up in lotta scenes, ie. "war face", I actually laughed pretty hard at that part. The chemistry with the leads was good as well. Mabye I was expecting way more but It's one of those films that's good to watch when you're bored

A young man working for a weapon factory,
starts to wonder if something is wrong, when his
co-workers starts to act strangely, especially
after drinkin a certain energy drink.
Office Uprising is a fun zombie flick, not necessarily
well made, based on lack of good acters, but
they make that up with good script and direction.

"We have a killer severance package."
Clever office-zombie comedy. It's as if The Belko Experiment somehow got adapted as a sitcom, and this was the pilot. Apparently, it's similar to another movie called Mayhem, but I'm as of now, I am unfamiliar with it.
Several chuckles to be had, could have been funnier, but the cast are so good and so likeable that they fill in any gaps you may notice. If you've ever worked in an office, you will find something to relate to here.
Nice to see Zachary Levi (as "Anusbaum") in villain-mode.

It's aver crude idea, to drive a company mad by giving canned drugs to them. After consuming the drugs, the emploees of a weapon manifacturing company go wild and murder without border in the office. Three friends try to escape from their drug driven colleagues in a 5 staged special secured building with all means they got left. It turned out to be a really gory movie. If you are able to cope with a funny gore movie, you might watch this. I did like the satire on weapon selling companies. On that base, I can have a laugh on it. Beside the lousy CGI's, which is not really irritating, it is a movie to watch with good fellows while having a Bud - or some other beer. But compared to all other movies in the world, it isn't a milestone for sure. Watch it, if you want some silly fun with gory parts. A recommendation for friends of movies like 'Tucker and Dale vs. Evil' or 'Zombieland'.

This regular comedy works -at times- on multiple levels , the action scenes are pretty well and adequately mounted , but resulting in an average film. It belongs to a peculiar sub-genre : the horror office comedy . Desmond -Brenton Thwaites- is an underachiever working at Ammotech , a major weapons manufacturing firm with a lot of hard-working labourers . Desmond is an employee of a company whose employers don't appreciate him enough . Things go wrong when the corporate office clerk at a weapons factory discovers that an energy drink turns the co-workers into violent attackers , almost-zombies. Desmond finds himself in the verge of losing his job and also probably his life as supernatural forces begin to influence the company . As Desmond soon discovers Zolt, a popular energy drink created by the military , has turned his boss and coworkers into ominous killer beings . They are quarantined after a dangerous drink makes the infected lose their quietness or serenity . And Desmond and some colleagues must battle their way before time runs out. Desmond savagely fights nails and tooth to escape from zombies-alike and settle the score once and for all . However , little by little the bodies start piling up and lazy coworkers become paler , and more aggressive . Now Desmond must defeat his violent workplace pals before his life and career go from dead-end - to just dead .Work. It sucks the life out of you.
This terror comedy concerns a drink turning the employees into quasi zombies , containing thrills , chills , gory scenes and gallons of corny bloody spectacle . This film has enough comedic and acting bite to entertain enough and some sympathetic scenes have worthwhile watch. The plot is plain and simple , a mysterious and dangerous energetic drink causes chaos and mayhem , as the victims erupting throughout the office begin acting out their wildest impulses , and our starring must finally rise to the challenge in order to survive a building full of psychotic coworkers armed with the newest weaponry . The storyline is completely predictable but that doesn't flop at all , as there are enough lightweight laughs and zombies antics , to keep the story rolling along . Combining this with passable acting and you will have some diverting moments here and there . While it may not open with much glee , the unworldly struggle towards the end proves to be ludicrously fun . Provided , of course, you accept credentials of a "B" movie and associated a limited budget. Stars Brenton Thwaites giving a likable performance as a down on his luck worker who discovers a drink turning his coworkers into violent living dead , breaking the office stillness . There're some known faces in the cast , some of them newcomers , or veterans or with promising future , such as : Zachary Levi, Jane Levy , Karan Soni, Kurt Fuller and Gregg Henry . If you're in the mood for some zombie fun you could do a lot worse than this title . My advice watch it alongside other polished comedic zombie flicks for a evening chuckle worthy zombie fun.
The movie makes amusement of its characters in highly self-deprecating manner , definitely not your usual troupe to fight the undead . The entertainment begins as these mostly incompetent characters have to face not only their dreadful job, but the titular violent foes . It produces a hectic cynical parody that gets better as more blood is spilled . Script is middlingly written enough to be identifiable and the delivery from actors is often openly mocking both real as well as office life. There are lots of visual cues involved , which may be over-the-top yet strangely effectively humorous. The film is marketed as a mix between "Office Space" and "Shaun of the Dead" . As its pace and editing slightly resembles ¨Shaun of the Dead¨, both have dead-pan sarcastic delivery of dreadful events and following the style of the recent films as ¨Bloodsucking Bosses¨ (2015) by Brian James O'Connell are ¨Mayhem¨(2017) by Joe Lynch. The comparison is fair, "Office Space" definitely seems to have been an influence as well as¨Mayhem¨. And while this may not become the cult classic of either of those two , this Office Uprising (2018) is entertaining enough but far from those superior horror comedies . "Horror comedy" as a genre or subgenre is more challenging than it sounds . Some in recent years have been really nice , including "Tucker and Dale Versus Evil" and the aforementioned "Shaun", but many of them fail to deliver the goods . "Brutal Massacre", for example, was chock full of horror icons and tried to be an enjoyable comedy, but ends up rather flat, eventually failing in both horror and comedy categories. "Office uprising" gets an uneven balance , some of it is downright funny , and there is more blood, gore, slitting and beheading here than other movies . The motion picture was regularly directed by Lin Oedin . He made his feature directorial debut with the action-thriller "Braven" starring Jason Momoa, and Stephen Lang, and making various episodes of notorious series , such as : NCIS: Hawai'i , Magnum , SWAT , Warrior , Colony , Chicago Fire , Chicago Meds , Chicago P. D. , Blindspot , Blood Drive , among others . Rating : 4.5/10 . So-so and mediocre zombie horror comedy.

For a low budget zombie flick this surprised the hell out of me. I've seen my fair share of of these types of movies and the majority of them tend to be pretty tame and rather boring. However, Office Uprising has a fine balance of comedy mixed with gore and a little bit of the outrageous mixed in to make sure it has something for everyone. Fine performances from the majority of the cast with Brenton Thwaites, Karan Soni and Zachary Levi taking most of the plaudits. If you're looking for an outrageous little movie that just flies by then look no further than Office Uprising, it won't win any awards for being the best movie but it's very entertaining.

Anyone considering watching this movie should watch Mayham (2017) instead. This movie tried what Mayham succeeded to accomplish.

Dull, predictable and no real story or character development to speak of. I'm left doubting IMDB ratings. Sure people have different taste.....but 7.3/10 ? No way !!! I've never left a review before but felt the need to sign up just to question this implausible rating.
Going into this film I had 0 expectations and I mean, nobody should be going into this film expecting much. What you see is what you get!
It reminded me of the Belko Experiment, which I really enjoyed, and it's just a real simple modern day zombie killing film. It's not going to have complex plots and so on. And you know what, it's quite amusing also. If you have an hour and a half to kill then why not shove it on. It's simple, violent and funny.
Entertained me anyway!

And yet another case of mass-fake-ratings.
This is a pointless, talentless piece of manure. I can't believe, that 2000 people voted this a 9 or 10 while there are almost no other ratings. IMDB, get your act together and do something about this or you will lose all credibility that's left and slide into obscurity.

I put this film on while under lockdown cause of covid-19 and it leaves netflix in 2 days (07-05-20) i had watched films with the same plot before but it was so much fun, i did like the main Characters, as i have never worked in an office, or want to!!! I usually dont like them very much, the story was fun and moved at a pace and had lots of fun scenes, plenty of great gore and at 90mins just flew by.
A well made film i could watch again.

Seems like Office Buildings are a new target - no pun intended of course. So this is a decent effort into the whole horror comedy genre, if you are into it. And it all plays in one location. The characters are nicely drawn, but of course you do have cliches surrounding them. Still the actors have fun playing them and it is something that shows on your screen.
The script is ok, throwing a couple of things at you and balancing humor and horror nicely. But as I have said before, this is something the viewer has to be open to. I have friends who don't like their horror mixed with comedy. If that is the case, stay clear of this. If not, just roll with it and have fun

With all of the good stuff left out.
Uses parts of Zombieland, Office Space and a couple of others but lacks the whit, charm...and more importantly comedy of them all.

Office Uprising is not as unhinged as it thinks it is but it remains a fun, reasonably gory comedy that has as much energy as the zombie adjacent workers who inhabit the titular office. There's just enough plot to explain everything that needs an answer and the main characters are easy to root for with jokes that are funny enough to keep things moving along nicely.
Brenton Thwaites gives an energetic lead performance, explaining the rules of office life in a way that instantly makes him someone to root for. He's aided by Karan Soni, who is once again adorably innocent with a more violent side underneath. Zachary Levi really understands the assignment as someone who's already insane before the zombie virus kicks in, and only dials it up even more once it does.
Lin Oeding's background in stunts shines through in his direction. The bigger fights are all surprisingly well staged with various weapons employed in smart ways, especially the fish bowl filled with shotgun shells. It has an overall cheapness to it which mostly adds to the charm and it's only the cheap CGI effects used for blood and bullet fire that feel subpar in a bad way.

Cheaply done with a basic derivative script. It is fun in parts but plays like a knock off not a homage or parody.
Ok comedy horror.
