[adrift in space]
ETH.3n: Captain, your suit.
Captain Nick Reyes: Took a hit in the cockpit. Left arm's torn.
ETH.3n: Unsettling report, sir. Captain, I can't stop it. What do I do?
Captain Nick Reyes: [coughing] Let it go, Ethan.
ETH.3n: I can't, sir. You're my commanding officer, captain. My mission is you.
Captain Nick Reyes: Who says?
ETH.3n: I'm hardware, sir. Ultimately expendable.
Captain Nick Reyes: No, no. You're my brother, Ethan.
ETH.3n: Your talking robot brother?
Captain Nick Reyes: Affirmative.
ETH.3n: Yes, well, I am the handsome one, sir.
Captain Nick Reyes: [laughs weakly] No doubt... looks like this is the end of the line, partner.
ETH.3n: I think I'm scared, sir.
Captain Nick Reyes: Me, too.
When the creators of this game were interviewed they seemed very passionate about this project and that passion really comes through in the game itself! The whole game drips with effort!
People said this is the worst COD. I don't get it! I think this is one of the best COD games!
The game is gorgeous! The settings have so much detail and there's always something going on in the image.
I like how it goes against the COD formula. Like with the mini boss fights, the side missions, and the most wanted cards, all of which are fun to do.
There's a lot of variety when it comes to the gameplay. You have all-out war, stealth, space gunfights, horror, and dogfights! Every one of them is intense and exciting in their own way.
All of the acting is great! Especially from Kit Harington, David Harewood, and Jim Pirri.
This has some of the best dialogue of any Call of Duty game. I walked away from every mission quoting lines. There are lines that are badass and ones that are genuinely funny.
The violence can be gory and satisfying, but also horrific.
All of the characters are likable and memorable, even the ones that don't have much to them. And you're afraid that any of them could die. And when one dies you feel bummed.
The SDF, despite some issues that I'll get into, are threatening as an antagonistic faction, and Salen Kotch (awesome name, seriously) is a good character in the sense he represents everything the faction is about. And boy oh boy do you HATE Kotch and the SDF! Harington brought a stubbornness, ruthlessness, and arrogance to the role that really made you anxious to kill Kotch. And the SDF is made up of a bunch of self-righteous, entitled fascist pigs who murder fleeing civilians and enjoy it, so you take a lot of satisfaction in shooting them.
In the few moments he was on screen, Conor McGregor was plenty intimidating.
I love the character designs! And all the designs for the soldiers and robots!
Personal point: I couldn't help but wonder what this game would be like as a Star Fox game. Think about it!
Now for my issues: The characters, namely Kotch and Reyes, are kind of clichéd. But you still like to watch them.
They should have covered the origins of the SDF with a playable prologue. Show the Succession War as opposed to telling me about it.
There are so few opportunities to use the wall running function that you wonder why they bothered to put it in in the first place.
I couldn't help but wonder to myself why it needed to be a COD game. It could be something completely separate.
Just a heads-up, and this might just be a matter of personal preference, but I played this game on both Xbox and computer and in my opinion it's best suited for computer. Especially when it comes to the dogfighting.
