Narrows is a web series about a former member of a rogue militarized agency and his struggle for survival in attempting to bring them down. These agents are given this substance known as Genoprime(?), which basically makes them super soldiers by giving them extreme vitality and rapid healing, and is a pretty cool plot point.
This is not the first series I have seen from this director, but I do seem to enjoy this more than his other works; which is surprising as I believe this was his first official project.
The show is short and sweet, with some cool cinematography and a streamlined premise. The story is simple and kinda takes a backseat to the main focus of the series, the action, until the third season which is heavily dialogue focused.
The fight choreography is excellent for a low budget mini series, I especially love the final fight at the end of the first season, feels like a straight up PPV wrestling match.
One thing that really surprised me is the makeup; whoever did the blood for this show did an excellent job.
It's a simple thing, but really sells the fights.
Due to the speed and use of camera angles it really feels like two human weapons just brawling. Badass!!
The show is witty, has likable characters, and as I stated has great fight scenes. The longest episode is almost 20 mins, but on average they're only about 10 mins long. Very easy to watch, give it a shot.
Update: The director has finished this story, and it was a wild ride!! Solid ending for a solid show. He's been working on this project for about a decade, which just goes to show the love he has for his craft; which is enough of a reason to watch. In this industry it's so common to see creators become bored and jaded with their creations, but Thomas's dedication is admirable and respectable and has certainly paid off. Looking forward to seeing more from him, as I know it will only get better.

I was introduced to Thomas' work with Darkest Case series and really fell in love with his style and vision for storytelling. It was later that learned that this show, Narrows, came first. This show is a little different as it draws more on the action rather than drama but it does so in a tasteful way. The fight choreography is very raw and paired up with the camera work it helps to sell the premise on very modest budget. The characters are cool and dialogue is snappy which makes the series fun to watch. There is more to come from Spotlight Frick as this series is not over yet. I look forward to see what else is in store for the protagonist, Trace, in next season of Narrows. On the side note, I really like the crossover of seeing various actors from Thomas' Darkest Case series which is also very much worth checking out!
