Michael Rosenbaum claims his character in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies was initially supposed to have much more screen time.
During a panel at Nashville Comicon on Saturday, the Smallville star opened up about playing Martinex, a small supporting role, in James Gunn’s sci-fi trilogy.
“The role was supposed to be a lot bigger. They cut a lot out,” Rosenbaum said. “You were supposed to see … it was written in the script to see Martinex’s powers, which were really cool. But they had so much to talk about in the script that they ended up cutting it out at the end. And there was some other stuff.”
However, the Impastor actor feels no animosity toward the director and is just grateful for the experience with the Guardians franchise and his longtime friend Gunn.

While his work on his reboot version of DC’s cinematic universe as its co-ceo is yet to be seen, James Gunn has displayed his charming directing flair in quite a few other projects that were nothing short of lovable.
Besides the fan-favorite The Suicide Squad from the DC Universe being one of them, he is also credited with helming the MCU masterpiece, Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.

That being said, while the trilogy was pretty much perfect, some fans might still hold a grudge against Gunn for a decision he took for Michael Rosenbaum, i.e. the actor who played Lex Luthor in the television series.
This was because the filmmaker decided to sideline Rosenbaum’s character in the trilogy for the MCU, i.e., Martinex, in a rather humiliating way.

Sara Rue has been cast in a series regular role in the NBC drama pilot “Prism,” Variety has learned.

Rue will play Alexis Boden, who is described as ambitious and views the trial as her “Serial” opportunity. Rue joins previously announced cast members Malin Akerman, Mykelti Williamson, Ramon Rodriguez, Chloe Wepper, David Alpay, and Brooke Smith.

The holidays will be extra special for Sara Rue and her family this year.
The Impastor star, 37, and her husband, Kevin Price, 41, recently adopted a baby girl, her rep confirms exclusively to People.
Adelaide Rue Price was born in mid-October and “is doing really wonderful,” says Rue, who also has a 3-year-old daughter, Talulah. “She’s so strong and she’s spending a lot of time tucked up to my body. It’s been a really cozy, wonderful time in our house.”
Opting for an open adoption with Adelaide’s birth mother, the second-time parents always knew they wanted to adopt some day.

For a very long time, Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor was the best part of Smallville. However, by the time season seven rolled around, the character was growing stale and he was written out in a very unsatisfying manner. The character would make sporadic appearances over the next few years, but played by different actors as the show made some really bizarre creative decisions with the villain. Television President Peter Roth was desperate to get him to stick around, but that he was simply ready to move on to something new by that point in his career. "He tried to get me to do two more seasons of Smallville. I was very polite and respectful. I said, ‘Peter, my grandma thinks I’m funny and I’ve always wanted to do comedy,...

The conman is back. Above, check out the Impastor TV show poster for the second season on TV Land. Buddy (Michael Rosenbaum) seems to be in a bit of a jam. While he's wearing his clerical collar and has his hands folded in prayer, he's also being locked in the trunk of a car -- probably by an enforcer for that loan shark he's been ducking. The dark comedy is executive produced by creator Christopher Vane and Rosenbaum. One could say that Michael Rosenbaum’s prayers were answered when TV Land’s Impastor came his way. For the Smallville alum not only found in the comedy perhaps “the perfect role” – as a charming, extremely non-religious con man who co-opts the identity and life of a clergyman (who he later learns is gay) — it came on a show that proved to have legs, and as such earned a Season 2 pick-up weeks ahead of this Tuesday’s finale.

It seems that TV Land is truly committed to their new single-camera comedies. The cable channel has renewed both The Jim Gaffigan Show and Impastor for second seasons.
Set in New York City, The Jim Gaffigan Show revolves around a fictionalized version of comedian/author/actor Jim Gaffigan as he struggles to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy, and an insatiable appetite. On Impastor, slacker Buddy Dobbs (Michael Rosenbaum) has a big gambling debt and is about to jump off a bridge to kill himself. A reverend happens by and tries to stop him. When the pastor accidentally falls to his doom, Buddy is left with the unlikely opportunity to steal the man's identity.
