My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 ends with a wedding and a reunion. Toula intended to travel to Greece to pass her late father Gus’ journal to his childhood friends. However, she struggled to find them as they had all left the small village where her father grew up. Finding it difficult to do on her own, and with so much else going on with her family, Toula recruits her cousins Angelo and Nikki to find them. They travel from one Greek island to another; they eventually find all three friends, leading them back to their hometown for the reunion.
Elsewhere, Qamar and Christos decided to get married on the day of the reunion, much to the chagrin of Peter and Alexandra. While they aren’t initially accepting of the couple, they give their blessing, and the wedding celebration becomes a happy, multicultural occasion. Paris and Aristotle get back together,...

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” star Robert Aramayo is set to play a Tourette’s Syndrome campaigner in upcoming biopic titled “I Swear.”
Directed by Kirk Jones (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”), who is returning for his first feature film in eight years, “I Swear” tells the story of Tourette’s Syndrome campaigner, John Davidson. Principal photography recently wrapped in Scotland.
“I Swear” follows Davidson’s journey with Tourette’s through his troubled teens and early adulthood, having been diagnosed at 15 years old in 1980s Britain – a time when the condition was little known and entirely misunderstood.
“Targeted as insane by his peers, Davidson lives with a condition few have ever witnessed, as he attempts to live a ‘normal’ life against the odds,” reads the synopsis.

The 2016 action-thriller sequel starring Tom Cruise is an adaptation of the 2013 Lee Child novel Never Go Back, following Cruise's title character attempting to uncover a government conspiracy and clear the name of his former Army unit's leader, Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders). Actor John Stamos has opened about his mental state at the time of his 2015 DUI and the series of events that led him to sobriety.
He said: “When I did get the DUI, I came home from the hospital that night,” reports Entertainment Weekly.
He told People magazine: “I sat down, I drank a bottle of wine just to forget what just happened. And I never sobered up.”
The actor, who has now been sober for eight years, said that he almost immediately had to leave home to film ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ following the arrest.
As per Entertainment Weekly, he did not allow himself time to process, and his drinking didn’t stop once he was on set.
“When you sober up, you have to look at the ugly truth, so you keep drinking,” he said. “So I was kind of just loosely buzzed through the shooting of that movie.

By the time "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" hit theaters this year, a whole lot had happened between the popular franchise's second installment and its third. On screen, Nick (Louis Mandylor) got separated, Maria (Lainie Kazan) developed dementia, and Ian (John Corbett) retired. Offscreen, Andrea Martin gained new stardom playing demon-hunting nun Sister Andrea in the Paramount+ series "Evil," while the cast also lost one co-star -- Michael Constantine, who passed away in 2021.
The new movie's plot hinges around the aftermath of patriarch Gus' (Constantine) death, as Toula (Nia Vardalos) explains in the film's trailer that it was Gus' last wish that the family visit his childhood village in Greece. Thus, instead of a wedding, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" actually centers around a family reunion with all the cultural flair you'd expect from the Portokalos family. If you missed the movie in theaters, you won't have to...

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 will be released for streaming on Peacock on November 3, just two months after its theatrical release. The film faced a lukewarm reception from critics and only grossed $38 million worldwide, marking a decline from the previous films in the franchise. Released in theaters on September 18, the third film in the franchise follows Toula after Gus' death as she attempts to find her late father's childhood friends in Greece for a family reunion. John Stamos appeared on “The Howard Stern Show” to promote his new memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me,” and revealed that his alcoholism got so bad around 2015 that he actually does not remember being on set to film his role in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.” The actor appeared to forget he even booked a part in the film and was reminded the day after his 2015 arrest for driving under the influence that he had to go to Toronto, Canada, to film.
In previous interviews, Stamos has said his 2015 DUI arrest was a definitive moment in convincing him that it was time to get sober. But it didn’t happen instantly. He told Stern that after he got home from jail, he “drank another bottle of wine by myself.”

It has been 25 years since Keri Russell graced the small screen in the iconic role of Felicity Porter.
Felicity, the J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves-produced college drama, was a critical darling of The WB, becoming a phenomenon well before "the big chop" controversy and often topping the list of young adult classics to this very day.
The series amassed 84 episodes over four seasons, and it was nominated for 38 awards, including a Golden Globe Best Actress nod for Keri Russell.
The series remains impactful, even two and a half decades later. And it's primarily due to the allure of the cast, many of whom are still going strong in their careers all these years later.

Warner Bros. Discovery is projecting huge losses from the impact of writer and actor strikes, but “Barbie” is still around to help them pay bills. It’s hardly news that as Greta Gerwig’s smash hit starts its initial post-theater platform release, it’s #1 on PVOD charts. The real story: that it’s doing so with a hefty premium price.
Gerwig’s #1 theatrical hit worldwide for 2023 (which will end up with around $1.5 billion in theatrical returns) is now renting on PVOD for $24.99, with the option to add it to your digital library permanently for $29.99. Studios recover 80 percent from revenues returned for these transactions, less a small slice for the carrier. That means Warner Bros. Discovery will recoup around $20 for each “Barbie” rental, $25 for each download. It’s a bonanza.
As always, how much actual money is involved with these transactions is not known, but if five million domestic homes rent the film,...

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a massive success, grossing $368.7 million worldwide on a budget of just $5 million. Nia Vardalos, the writer and star of the franchise, made millions of dollars from all three movies. Despite a pay dispute with the production companies, Vardalos's current net worth is estimated to be around $10 million.
With the third entry of the My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise hitting theaters this month, audiences might be wondering how much writer and star Nia Vardalos was paid for each of the rom-com trilogy's installments. My Big Fat Greek Wedding's sequel films haven't lived up to the sky-high expectations of the 2002 original, but that doesn't mean Vardalos's paycheck has taken a hit. After all, even two decades later, the first movie remains the most successful rom-com of all time — on an indie budget of just $5 million, the film garnered a staggering $368.7 million at the worldwide box office.

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and its sequels have been a stepping stone for many actors, propelling them to success in their careers. The sequels may not have replicated the same success as the first film, but they have added depth to the characters and acted as milestones for the cast. My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a turning point for many actors involved in the movie, and since its release, they have come a long way in their careers. Although My Big Fat Greek Wedding did not initially have a lot of buzz surrounding its release, the rom-com movie became a sleeper hit after premiering in 2002. Twenty after its release, the film is considered a rom-com classic and, as a result, has spawned two sequels.

Warner Bros./New Line’s “The Nun II” is kicking off the fall box office with a $32.6 million opening weekend is making it likely that September will be a much better month for theaters than last year’s miserable slump.
While well short of the $53 million opening of the first “Nun” in 2018, “The Nun II” is meeting pre-release projections and is also in a similar range to past films in the “Conjuring” series. It tops the $24 million opening made by “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” during Warner’s day-and-date experiment in 2021, and slides just below the $35 million opening of “Annabelle: Creation” in 2017.
“The Nun II” has also made $52.7 million from 70 overseas markets this weekend — including $8.9 million from Mexico — to give it an $85.3 million global start. Warner Bros. is anticipating a final global total of over $200 million, a solid result given that all of the “Conjuring” films have...

Based on Nia Vardalos' one-woman play of the same name, the 2002 indie romcom "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is one of the most astonishing box office tales in cinema history. It ranked in 20th place at the domestic box office on its opening weekend, but four months later it had climbed its way up to No. 2. Warner Bros. and New Line’s “The Nun II” is kicking off the fall box office with a solid $32 million estimated opening weekend after grossing $13.1 million on Friday from 3,728 theaters, matching prerelease projections.
The first “Nun” was released in 2018 as a spinoff of New Line’s lucrative “Conjuring” horror series, and is the highest grossing film in the franchise with a $53 million domestic opening and a $365 million global box office total against a reported $22 million budget.
“Nun II” has never been projected to reach the heights of its predecessor, but is still beating the $24 million opening of the 2021 film “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” which released simultaneously in theaters and on streaming.
If walk-up traffic is higher than expected, “Nun II” could stretch closer to $35 million, which is what fellow “Conjuring” spinoff “Annabelle: Creation” earned in 2017 before inflation adjustment. Reception has been tepid among early moviegoers with a C+ on CinemaScore,...

Warning: This post contains spoilers for My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 brings back the Portokalos family for a fun trip to Greece, full of shenanigans and humor, but it falls short of the charm and excitement of the previous films. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is a major letdown, with repetitive plot points, dry jokes, and a lack of excitement and pacing. It fails to maintain the spirit of the first film. My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the best of the three films, with an outstanding emotional throughline, genuine humor, and a focused and well-paced narrative. It is touching, hilarious, and relatable, drawing from the writer's own life experiences.

“Give me a word, any word,” Michael Constantine’s Gus Portokalos implored to anyone who would listen in 2002’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding, “and I’ll show you how the root of that word is Greek.” The old man’s words recur early on in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, spoken not by the Portokalos patriarch (Constantine himself died in 2021), but by his grieving daughter, Toula (Nia Vardalos), reminding her own daughter, Paris (Elena Kampouris), of Gus’s grinning legacy and the gaping hole he’s left behind.
Toula is doing her father’s voice and smiling when she delivers that tribute, but there are tears in her eyes too. The laughs here, for both characters and audiences, tend to echo through the gauze of nostalgia, making the film an unexpectedly moving entry in the franchise, if not an uproariously funny one. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is the final installment of the trilogy, but the future of the franchise is uncertain. The movie does not have a post-credits scene, as it tells a complete story within its runtime. Not including a post-credits scene was a safer choice, as it avoids leaving audiences with unresolved feelings if a sequel never happens.
The My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise returns with a third installment, but does My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 have a post-credits scene teasing more for the Portokalos family? The latest adventure for Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian (Josh Corbett) finally sees the franchise venture to Greece. Picking up several years after My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, the family travels to the Portokalos homeland following the death of a family member and in time for a family reunion. This weekend sees the wide release of two movies aimed at vastly different audiences. In one corner, you have the possessed demons of The Nun II. On the other, you have the romantic adventures of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. The big question is whether audiences are still interested in either of these franchises.
Released on September 7, 2018, The Nun continued The Conjuring Universe, giving a spin-off story to the possessed Nun from The Conjuring 2. The Nun would launch with an impressive $53.8 million on its way to a massive $365.5 million worldwide, the most of any film in The Conjuring Universe. So it was only a matter of time before we got a sequel, and that time has come with this weekend’s release of The Nun II. There are no reviews yet, although would reviews really matter? The first film garnered horrible reviews from both critics and audiences and still managed its stellar performance.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is set to take place in Greece and will focus on a new romance and the passing of Toula's father. The first two films in the franchise were successful and profitable, and the third installment needs to be a big hit at the box office to continue the franchise's success. In order for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 to succeed from a profit perspective, it needs to gross at least $57.5 million at the box office.
With the theatrical release of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 around the corner, it's worth looking at how much the movie cost to make and what its box office gross will need to be in order to make it a financial success. The third installment in the franchise is set to take place in Greece, continuing the theme of Toula (Nia Vardalos) exploring her heritage and embracing her culture.

“Sequel September” enters its second weekend with more studios hoping that nostalgia will rule out for moviegoers. This week welcomes “The Nun II” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” to theaters, and we’re predicting they could have very different results. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
The return of Denzel Washington for “The Equalizer 3” did so well over Labor Day weekend that studios should be thrilled with their decision to just release sequel after sequel this month, the next one up being “The Nun II.” It’s a sequel to the spin-off from “The Conjuring” that opened on this weekend in 2018 to $53.8 million, the biggest opening for the franchise that’s been dubbed “The Conjuring-verse.”

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is one of the most incredible cinematic success stories of the last 25 years. Released in 2002, it was made for just $5 million and opened just ahead of the summer movie season in April, making less than $600,000 on just over 100 screens on its opening weekend. But then something amazing happened, as it became one of the strongest word-of-mouth hits in history, gaining moviegoers week, after week, after week. It eventually made an astonishing $368.7 million worldwide, making it one of the ten highest-grossing movies that year, ahead of both of Steven Spielberg's releases -- "Minority Report" and "Catch Me If You Can" -- as well as eventual Best Picture winner "Chicago."

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 1 is available to stream on Max and offers an endearing story that blends Greek-American culture with a classic rom-com premise. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 can be watched on NBC's Peacock streaming service and reunites the charming cast, despite not capturing the magic of the original film. Both movies can also be rented or purchased on various platforms such as Microsoft Store, Apple TV Store, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Store, YouTube TV, Vudu by Fandango, Redbox, DirecTV, and AMC Theaters On Demand.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is the second movie sequel to Joel Zwick’s classic rom-com, and several of the original cast members return to reprise their roles for a fourth time in the beloved franchise. All three movies in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding franchise, as well as the sequel series My Big Fat Greek Life, are filled with talented actors and actresses who use their comedic talents and palpable chemistry to transform this fairly simple narrative of love and family into something that’s become synonymous with comfort, warmth, and easy viewing.

After years of waiting, Nia Vardalos' My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is finally on the way, and a lot of information about the upcoming film has been revealed. 2002's My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a surprise smash hit, and follows Toula Portokalos (Vardalos) as her impending wedding to a non-Greek man inspires her to grow closer to her cultural heritage. Praised for its charm and witty humor, the first installment in the franchise even earned Vardalos an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. An unsuccessful television spinoff came shortly after, but it was the release of 2016's My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 that continued the series.
Both films in the franchise were box office smash hits, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding actually earned over $350 million (via Box Office Mojo) against a tiny budget. Unlike other successful franchises which rush out sequels on a nearly year-to-year basis,...

Wait a minute, you might be asking, isn’t HBO Max supposed to be “Max” now? How then, am I seeing a list of HBO Max new releases for May 2023? Well spotted, dear reader. Warner Bros. Discovery did indeed recently reveal that it would be rebranding its combined HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming service as just Max. As the company notes in its press release for May though, that change doesn’t take effect until May 23. What follows is a list of everything coming to HBO Max through May 22.
The biggest releases this month are two TV series that arrive at the beginning of May. White House Plumbers is a comedic take on the infamous Watergate scandal starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. That will be followed by season 3 of The Other Two, which I personally consider the funniest show on television. Catch up now before it’s too late!
