Straightforward Story Confusingly Told

Take a heroic tale of a man with a mission, now add made up drama and break it down into small moments in time. Take all these moments and shuffle them around and around to the point where the main character dies but doesn't a dozen times to the point where it becomes one annoying mess. There you have a synopsis of a great story never told; a missed opportunity.
