Some of the actors that played The Doctor were considered to play The Doctor in Doctor Who (1963) at one point. Geoffrey Balydon was considered for The 1st and 2nd Doctors but the roles went to William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton. He was even considered for the recasted 1st Doctor in The Five Doctors (1983) as William Hartnell passed away in 1975, but the role went to Richard Hurndall. David Warner was considered for The 4th Doctor but the role went to Tom Baker.
