The 1-minute and 45-second cut is the longest cut of this commercial. The 60-second version removes and changes a few things.
- A shot of Phil Connors walking down steps is missing.
- Ned's first meeting with Phil is slightly shortened. He notices Phil right away instead of walking for a bit before seeing him.
- Alternate take of Phil stopping his Jeep next to Farmer Bob. Entire dialogue exchange has been shortened to -- BOB: "Hey. You're going to freeze to death." PHIL: "Who cares? See you tomorrow."
- Phil singing along to the I Got You Babe lyrics "mountain we can climb" followed by "in 4-wheel drive" is missing, as well as a shot of the Jeep driving through snow.
- After the alarm clock changes from 5:59am to 6:00am, Phil sings along to the lyrics "say your hair's too long" from I Got You Babe.
- 26 consecutive seconds of footage from the extended version are missing. This includes two shots of Phil walking on skis with the groundhog, a reused shot of Buster Green shouting "he got the groundhog", Ned seeing Phil drive by, Phil telling the groundhog "hands at 10 and 2" while they're driving, Phil and the groundhog camping outside in a tent, two takes of Phil trying to bring the groundhog into a restaurant, and multiple shots of the alarm clock flipping to 6:00am.
- Alternate take used of Ned seeing Phil drive by. He does not say "Bing!"
- Another shot of Phil on skis is missing.
- Text over fireworks is different. Extended versions reads "Have the day of your life over and over again" while the edited version is "No day is the same in a Jeep Gladiator".
- A shot of the Jeep driving through the snow is missing.
- During the shot of the groundhog with its head out of the Jeep window, the text appears right away. "Gladiator" is no longer used, and the words "There's only one" eventually changes to "Happy Groundhog Day".
- The final scene in which Phil is wandering through the snow on skis and says to the groundhog "I don't know where we parked. I was following you" is the same footage from the 52-second mark in the extended version.
