The previously announced Poltergeist television series is reportedly still in development, according to Variety. On August 19, the outlet exclusively revealed that the upcoming television show being produced by Amazon MGM Studios had found its showrunners in Kalinda Vazquez and Robbie Thompson. In addition to showrunning, the duo will write and executive produce the series, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television.
No plot details have been shared just yet about the show, but we know it's inspired by the original Tobe Hooper-directed film from 1982. Poltergeist is considered a horror classic and went on to spawn two sequels, Poltergeist II: The Other Side and Poltergeist III, and a 2015 remake.
Vazquez has written on many popular shows, including The CW spy thriller Nikita and Fox's Prison Break, while Thompson is an accomplished comic book writer and has written for characters like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. He also worked...

Daniel Brühl went to “Eden” and survived to tell the tale.
“I can’t compare it to any of my films. I’ve never done anything like it,” he says, teasing Ron Howard’s upcoming thriller. “Two days ago, I was doing the dubbing and saw Jude Law giving me a hard time on screen. We are both giving each other a hard time in this film.”
Shot in Australia – “We shot in nature, in the wilderness. All of it!” – it also features Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby and Sydney Sweeney as a group of people heading to the Galápagos Islands. Hans Zimmer composed the score.
“Tonally, it’s very eerie and very influenced by its setting. Ron and I, we have been talking a lot about Peter Weir’s films and the wonderful ‘Walkabout’ by Nicolas Roeg. There is this connection to nature, which is similar to [Howard’s previous film] ‘Thirteen Lives.

Daniel Brühl is getting back behind the camera to direct “Break,” a biopic about the tennis champion Gottfried von Cramm whose rise to stardom in the 1930s saw him face off with the Nazi regime in his native Germany.
“All Quiet on the Western” front star Felix Kammerer will lead the feature, which reunites the actor, Bruhl and the team behind the Oscar-winning WWI drama. “Break” is based on a screenplay by Hossein Amini from Marshall Jon Fisher’s “A Terrible Splendor: Three Extraordinary Men, a World Poised for War, and the Greatest Tennis Match Ever Played.”
The Ink Factory (“The Pigeon Tunnel,” “The Night Manager”) and their partners Marc Platt and Adam Siegel for Marc Platt Productions are teaming with Malte Grunert for Amusement Park (“All Quiet on the Western Front”) and Edward Berger (“All Quiet on the Western Front”) for Nine Hours on the picture, which will be told in German and English.

British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry loves his privacy but some royal experts fear he is over the top when he tries to go incognito in public. Harry fancies himself as important as the late Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, and his heir brother Prince William.
That’s why he’s spending a ton of money to make the British taxpayer fund his security even though he is nowhere the level of the real royals.
Royal News – Harry Knows He Doesn’t Deserve Free Security
To be honest, some have speculated that Harry knows he doesn’t deserve free protection but is squawking about not returning to the UK because he’s not safe as an excuse to avoid his family altogether.
Why else would he stay in random hotels when visiting his family and why did he venture off to Nigeria if he fears for his safety?

Prabhas Is All Set To Break Box Office Records With Kalki 2898 Ad ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Kalki 2898 Ad is all set to release globally, and Prabhas’s film, helmed by Nag Ashwin, is expected to break some more records, and once again proves he shares the throne globally with Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom at the box office. With only 4 films Prabhas has kept his presence at the global box office, very relevant, breaking some or the other record.
But Prabhas was always not the star he is. In fact, it was Baahubali, that turned him into a box office asset overnight. To be fair it was Baahubali 2! Talking about how Baahubali created intrigue around one single sentence – Katappa ne Baahubali Ko Kyun Maara, Marketing Director Varun Gupta talked about how it was never a part of Baahubali’s marketing scheme, but it was a better-planned organic scheme that just happened.

Multihyphenate Graham Skipper returns to the Chattanooga Film Festival with his newest feature The Lonely Man With The Ghost Machine– a post-apocalyptic tale about loss, isolation, and creepy crawly monsters that eat humans for dinner. Indie fans will no doubt remember Skipper’s Cronenbergian Body Horror mindf*ck Sequence Break (2017), and while The Lonely Man With The Ghost Machine is definitely less…uh….gooey than his previous work, it’s still wickedly weird. And best of all, you can watch it right now as part of the Cff’s Virtual Fest, running straight through to June 28!

Expanding on the that classic two sentence terror, The Lonely Man With The Ghost Machine tells the story of Wozzeck (played by Skipper), the last living person on Earth. Some years ago “a great...

Who would have thought that the charming Chris Pratt—funny, giving, the kind of person you want to hang out with—rose from poverty and hardship? Yes, and above all, the Marvel star, 44, is not even ashamed to talk about his tragic days when he was broke and homeless, a stark contrast to the luxurious life he is leading today.
With his chubby physique mirroring his laid-back character, Pratt became famed for playing the hilarious Andy Dwyer in the popular sitcom Parks and Recreation. But before the actor lit up the silver screen with his infectious charm, he was discovered living on the streets, even eating “garbage from the dumpster”.

Yet, it was this period of his life that he reflected on with a sense of fondness, considering it “charming” in its way, as he recounted in a chat with The Talk.

I didn’t cover Alan Wake II when it was released last fall, but I echo everything in Reyna’s 5/5 review. It’s a masterpiece of survival horror that has one of the most creatively confident visions I’ve seen in the medium. I’m always on board for anything Remedy makes, so I was extremely excited by the Summer Game Fest announcement that Night Springs, the first of two planned story DLCs, was to be released on June 8. Now that I’ve got my hands on it, I’m happy to say that it’s a fun return to the world of Alan Wake, even if it’s not quite essential.
As the name implies, the Dlc is inspired by the in-universe TV show “Night Springs,” a riff on The Twilight Zone. There are three episodes included, each an alternate-world take on existing characters and locations in the Remedy Extended Universe.

Jeff Kober has thrived on playing the baddie for much of his long career. The prolific actor has almost 150 credits to his name with stops on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X Files, Walker, Texas Ranger, The Walking Dead, New Girl, and NCIS: Los Angeles to name a few. Then there are more regular roles like Jacob Hale Jr. on Sons of Anarchy, Sgt. Dodger Winslow on China Beach, and most recently, on General Hospital where he won an Emmy for his portrayal of shady Cyrus Renault. Next up is the pool shark thriller Break, where he takes on the role of pool hall hustler “The Hand” Jimmy. In the film, he looks to stand in the way of Eli (Darren Weiss), the hotshot son of a former rival, from honoring his legendary dad and former rival’s legacy. Here the veteran actor talks about the project and reminisces about some of his favorite parts.

There’s no doubt that the the Armored Core franchise is one of the most revered IPs within the incredibly niche mecha-third-person shooter genre. Its creators, Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware, have given us dozens of entries in the franchise that have managed to capture everyone’s attention. However, there’s a new challenger on the horizon, which is bringing something to the table that Miyazaki has outright failed to do with the Armored Core franchise.
Following the success of the Armored Core series, it was only a matter of time before another developer entered the realm of mech games. The Game Awards 2023 celebrated the debut of Amazing Seasun’s latest title, Mecha Break, which plans to take the mech genre to the next level with a Battle Royale twist. Players have been demanding a Battle Royale mode in the Armored Core series for ages, and someone else did it before Miyazaki and his team!

Netflix has teamed up with Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow for a harrowing ticking-clock thriller.
The streamer has greenlit a film centered on a group of White House officials scrambling to deal with an incoming missile attack on the U.S.
Sources say the story will be told in real time and that its tone harkens back to Bigelow’s foreboding 2012 hit Zero Dark Thirty, which chronicled the hunt for Osama bin Laden and the Navy Seal mission to kill the terror leader.
Netflix wouldn’t confirm any details about the project, merely announcing an untitled Bigalow movie at their upfront presentation to advertisers in New York City on Wednesday.
The film — along with a Happy Gilmore sequel announced today — is the first movie greenlit by the streamer’s new film division head Dan Lin. However, the film’s development began during the division’s previous regime led by Scott Stuber,...
