I binged this in a day, didn't have any expectations at all. I Just wanted something easy to watch after watching too much true crime.
It's a predictable feel good show, just that type of thing you need to reset your brain sometimes. Definitely made me think of Ugly Betty (which I remember enjoying a lot back in the day).
I liked the characters and the character developments. Miss Benny is great and I want to see more of them! Kim Cattrall isn't a very versatile actress if you ask me, but that's okay.
If you want something easy to watch and just want to feel good, watch it! I enjoyed it and definitely wish for a second season.

As with a lot of the reviewers - I watched for Kim Cattrall and enjoyed the first few episodes. Then it went downhill fast.
There are some great characters who are diminished by weak writing and set ups that are two episodes too long and a script that is overblown to fill too many hours. The main character flips back and forth more than a D. C. politician.
I'm sad to say that at Episode 5 I could care less about most of them. The character played by Nicole Power, Mykynnleigh, is over played. Given how the name is spelled, that should give you a hint.
What's sad is that this could have been a a really fun, yet compelling series. The last episode showed glimpses of that.

If you know how cosmetics are made, you have to assume the company can do everything, in-house, including packaging. A gold, glossy case is the most expensive part of ("luxury") makeup. Magically, availability is no problem here.
Out of all the characters on this almost exhausting to watch series, a few have their roles NAILED DOWN.
The BEST portrayals are made by Diana Maria Riva (Marco's mother) and Ayesha Harris by far. Their cadences are so good, it seems like they aren't playing a role at all. They are level-headed, and take the constant drama and every possible clichés played by others, down a notch, to where you look forward to them being in a scene.
Chad is downright annoying in at least the first seven episodes, until his character calms down a bit.
Parker is easy on the eyes and has his feet on planet Earth.
Venetia is very likeable.
Teddy is calm no matter what, and he isn't making crazy or explosive remarks.
Julie and Britt bring peace and balance. They are my favorites.
Thank you for having cast those two!

...you lost me at the club, drag shows in Ep 3. Until then I was willing to overlook the wretched acting by everyone besides Kim, but this "appearance" was beyond unacceptable. Y'all made Bushwick nightlife a mess when it can turn a party like no other. The writing is just bad, but that doesn't mean the acting has to be. The character interactions are forced and the Devil Wears Prada references are heavier than pancake foundation covering stubble. All the tokens are here, from Fire Island to Wig, so be prepared to gay gasp at the never ending tirade of yaaass queens and stereotypes and boogers, Oh My! Kim deserves better. The community deserves better.

I honoustly dont know why this show has such a low rating. Is it the best show i ever watched? No, ofcourse not. Is it fun? Yes, it is. This is the perfect show if you just want to relax and dont think to much. Its over the top and dramatic, but i like that. Kim Catrall absolutely slayed as she always does. Characters i did not like at first i started to like at the end of the show. Accept for Parker, we will always hate Parker. The characters are over the top and almost all of them are a lot, which at the beginning kinda annoyed me. But after more episodes i started to really like it, and i think that is just what makes this show so much fun. I think a second season will really give this show the chance to develop into something really good. And i actually can't wait to see what comes up next.

Update for 7th episode : which universe is this? I mean come on guys , there is no straight or gay life (especially gay life) in this world. This is so ridiculous. I am still watching but I hate more in every episodes...
Update for 8: did we really need this Chicago scene in this series? It is going worst in every episode :(
I love Kim Cattrall, she is fabulous and in my opinion good actresses and still looks wonderful for her age. I am on first episode and I didn't like the story at all but just for Kim, I will give a second chance. Story is so so so predictable moreover full of cliché. I don't like to watch this gender fluidity things in any series because for my age, it is really confusing but what can I say? Marco character is a little annoying for the first episode but I hope till the end, I can get used to him. Anyway as a final i can say that ; again and again we watched lots of version of this series but for legend of Kim, I gave 6 and i will try to watch second episode :)).

How to tell exactly the same tired story once again of a marginalised person that is somehow "special" but does not need or want to work for their dreams because they are already super glamorous?
This is a poor attempt to revive the same trope that ugly Betty and Devil wears Prada and many more have explored successfully in the past. But in this case is just insufferable.
The main character, Marco, is the main problem. I don't think that the actor is bad, but the part is so stereotypical unreal and exaggerated that probably will destroy his short career. He is a combination of the entitlement and annoyance that Emily in Paris has been hated so much for, with the added element of him being an average boy that wears far too much make up and high heels landing an executive assistant job at a cosmetic firm, with no experience more than working part time on a make up counter and wearing makeup?! I know that there may be influencers in the world that survive from that, and every body hates them, so why make this kind of person the centre of a story?
Netflix and in general TV products are making the same mistake again and again, and is believing that character so two dimensional are there just to tick off the box of diversity, without worrying on making the people with real conflicts.
Watching this series is painful, and I really hope that instead of hiring diversity advisors, they start hiring drama and mental health advisors. I am very concerned of the unrealistic message that these kind of shows send to our youth. The message that you are entitled to "success" just by wearing make up and "slay", that anyone with a little more experience who wants to guide you is considered an enemy, and that going around calling people "straight boy" or "white man" is something that is appropriate in the environment we live on.
I only gave the stars because of Kim Catrall, she deserves better, and she looks like she does here best with the terrible material she is working with.

I watched it knowing it would be a simple story and love Kim C. Something to watch in the background while crafting.
Pleasantly surprised and binged it over two days. Miss Benny is the purest of characters and so fun to watch. Felt as though we were watching their own feelings unfold and there was a lot of nuance to the character. Star power!
Thank you for allowing all these diverse characters to have real story lines and feelings. Even though they were predictable story lines, the characters looked more like the real world.
My only comment is that there are more than one drag bar in NYC and surrounding areas. It wasn't even near the office. Otherwise thought it was wonderfully entertaining.

Why all the hate for this show. If you don't enjoy shows about gays or drag queens with a lot of heart - or you don't worship at the altar of Samantha Jones - Change the channel. This is harmless fun with a few laugh out loud jokes. It's not going to win any Emmy's for acting but it is enjoyable, cute, charming and a fun way to binge away a few hours. And did I mention Kim Cattrall? She's brilliant and charming as always giving a lovely understated performance. Is the picture hanging in her office a production still from Mannequin? The rest of the cast is adequate with varying degrees of acting skill and charm. Miss Benny is very strong and carries the show enough to keep me watching. I'm excited to see how they grow their career- they have lots of potential.
As has been said it's ugly Betty meets younger meets devil wears Prada. It's not haute couture but it wasn't fished out of the bargain bin either.

The character of Marco is one of the most toxic I've seen in a show! They gaslight all the people around them, while they try to figure out what they want and then ask for grace. However, when other character are on a journey trying to find out what they want/need, Marco only makes demands and ultimatums, then makes everyone else think they are the issue. Ultimately Marco is always forgiven, because they have a winning personality but they never realize how their actions impact others. Not behavior to idolize. Marco should have communicated to partners and friends what was driving their behaviors and tried to understand others view points. Not force their view point on everyone else, and then he victimized when someone else did not understand it with not context.
I love Kim Catrall and I love this series. It's silly and maybe hollow but I am loving it. It is light and bingeable, like comfort food, makes you feel good altogether even if you know that it's not a masterpiece. Lame office drama, cute queer relationships, pretty people all around... it's a mix of everything we have already watched and loved for that matter. I don't see this on a long run series but I'm still enjoying it. Much better than the train wreck of the other SATC ladies... maybe I'm biased because I needed the light hearted Sunday binge watch but if you're looking for a feel-good silly series this is it.

Recently Many Netflix shows did not keep me watching while I could get into this show and keep watching. I enjoy those exaggerated figures and beauty industry. Seeing the struggle of cosmetic companies to invent new, new, new whatsoever... the parodie is good and needed. Kim Catrall is beautiful and cool as usual and I congratulated for being out from Sex and City flare. On the other hand I can imagine there are people who cannot get into this story as it plays a lot in LGBT environment. Some drag Queen shows are inserted and you can feel the energy.
I suggest this show to everyone who is not judgemental about other people's choice.

I didn't make it through the first episode, and I reinstated Netflix for this garbage.
Like almost everyone else, I tuned into this because of Cattrall. She is wasted here.
It ranks up there (or down), with "And Just Like That." Excruciating. Cattrall should have agreed to do THAT series, and maybe IT could have been salvaged.
I can't imagine, that this will get a second season. It dropped out of the Top Ten TV series after a few days.
I made it through about four episodes of Cattrall's previous series, "Filthy Rich." I KNEW that it wasn't going to get a second season.
This one is a cringe-fest. NO. THANK. YOU.

I read other review and good lord people need to chill. We all knew walking into that show that its just your basic silly workplace fun show. I like the lgbtq stories and it can be a bit cheesy at times but I like some of the characters. Marco is so cute and Kim C i mean she's always awesome. Also Ben is freaking adorable!! A fun take on Devil Wears Prada. Except there is no devil, just lots of love drama. Haha. Its a feel good show, take it for what it is. It is not Euphoria! If silliness is not your cup of tea then I suggest you not bother. It is a nice binge if you are looking for something to cheer you up a bit.

Frankly this is Fresh, New, bang up to date and fabulous goes with glamorous. I love the visibility, it ticks every box. Haters should check their time frames.
After all this isn't a show about million pound dresses, that 70% of the viewers could never afford, it's about something we can all aspire to do, look good on the outside and feel good on the inside.
Don't compare and don't judge a vehicle for change. Love it nurture it and hope for more. We live in a world where people still refuse to see, all the colours of rainbow and all the people in that rainbow.
Huge applause to. Kim Cattrall for seeing the future and being part of it.
All of the actors pull their weight with amazing scenes, and they are not scared to be unlikeable or vulnerable.
Watch with Beautifully painted eyes 👀

Honestly, the acting is not good. It just feels like I've seen this 100 times before and done so much better. Not really a fan of the lead Marco actor. I'm not buying what they are selling here, mostly because the story is thin and it just doesn't feel real at all. A big giant corporation run by a bunch of people that don't seem to have a clue what's going on? My review is not completely negative, there were a couple of funny moments and I did watch the first 3 episodes but I'm not sure I will go back. Based on what I'm reading here, it doesn't get any better. I will think about giving the rest of the episodes a chance.... I think if I was 30 years younger I might have a different viewpoint on this one. I did finish the episodes, and it was ok. It leveled out a bit as the series moved on and by the end I thought it improved some. It got itself together a bit more so I slightly increased my rating.

Only watched this because it had Kim Catrall. But it's been a massive disappointment. The storyline, characters, plots... everything is weak. They've chosen great actors, but unfortunately, even they can't save such a meagre plot. The queers look force fitted and not their natural self. Kim, Jade, Diana Riva, and Ayesha Harris are the only ones worth appreciating. However, even their scenes have been devastated with old repetitive dialogues that you would've heard before. The clothes are the only reason I could view 4 episodes. I gave it chances to redeem itself, but every other episode is worse than the previous. It's tough to figure out where the show is headed or if it even has a purpose. Seems like the creative team stuck patches of what they've viewed elsewhere and tried to weave a story around it. Please avoid this if you're an admirer of Kim and don't want to stain her image.

Overall... this is a fun show to get into.
The characters scheming behind each other's backs in the bathroom scenes are dumb and there are a lot of things that happen that are not realistic.
However, there are some cute love stories in here and you really develop feelings for the characters.
What really made me stay was the funny references to pop culture, the makeup, the music and the representation of diversity. Yes to the Clue the Movie scene and the stereotypes of people in an office setting.
I think the supporting characters stole the show on this one, but ultimately I liked it. Plus seeing all the dolls was great too.

But....
the characters were so one sided and annoying.
Marco and his indecisiveness was exhausting.
SO many plot holes.
And the gay son never once did anything other than try and sabotage other people. He was given zero redeeming values.
Each episode also ran WAY too long.
They should have been tight 20 minute episodes that zipped aloing.
And what was it with the annoying JJ Abrams lens flare throughout?
Really wanted it to be better esp since it represented so many LGBTQ storylines.
Stick to the far superior Heartstopper. That show has real characters, real development, and it doesn't insult your intelligence.

The premise is so. Over. The. Top. But if you can get over that, it's super fun. In the vein of Ugly Betty, Glee, GBF, Love Simon and other high camp shows, it's the most unabashedly gay thing I've ever seen, and I must say I really liked it.
I'm only on episode 4 so I can't speak to the whole season but it's better than 20% of the stuff on TV right now, and more fun than 90% of it.
Kim Catral was great, even though I think her character could have been written to be much deeper and dynamic. Still, give it a shot! You might be surprised.

I was really looking forward to another guilt free TV but this was so bad I had to stop watching after 15min. The writing is bad, the acting is worse and every interaction feels so awkward.. Kim Cattral is a decent actress, but her character has zero dimensions. And the main actor is just every Gay-Boy cliché in the book. If it was just boring I would have kept on watching at least for the full first episode, but it was so cringy I just couldn't make it past the first 15min. They couldn't have made it more awkward if they tried... No wonder the show didn't get any promotion on Netflix's social media, no one is proud about this one.
