In this special, Buddy the Elf wrote the song "Jingle Bell Rock", and Holly Labello sings the song when she and Buddy collaborate. Buddy and Holly is meant to allude to singer-songwriter Buddy Holly. However, Holly neither wrote nor did he ever perform the song "Jingle Bell Rock", contrary to popular belief. Bobby Helms was the first person to record the song, the only person to release a recording during Holly's lifetime, and claimed until his dying day to be the co-writer of the song.
