While America's Great Depression began in 1929, it got an early start in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, almost 10 years before the rest of the nation. While the rest of America was thriving, Montana was struggling. Between drought and the reduced demand for agricultural products, due to the end of the "Great War" (aka First World War, from 1914 to 1918), many farmers suffered greatly. As a result, Montana farmers would default on wartime loans which lead to widespread bank failure throughout the state. Between 1921-1925, half of the farmers in Montana lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of the 82,000 homesteaders in Montana left. In addition, 200 banks in Montana failed. Not only were crops affected by the drought, it was followed by locusts infestation and cattle succumbing to contagion.

What a good production!

I did not finish to watch it yet (but actually I dont want to), but I am in shock with that series! Its amazing! The histories, they way it is telled, how it changes generation to generation... I'm in love with this show.

I watched 1883 and omg, just as good as 1923, very sad, also a lot of happy moments, just crazy how the feelings change while you watch it. I just think it would be incredible if they change to next generations until it is at 2024 hahahahahah Thanks a lot for this perfect production! And you that is reading it, don't think twice to watch it. You're not gonna loose your time.

I just finished watching the series, and all I want is the next season, not just the next, but the NEXT ONES (if the stories continue to develop as well as in this first season). I'm amazed, the last episode had me simply crying, I urgently need the next season.

It's been a long time since I watched something so emotional and a story so well told like in this series. Not to mention the actors, what a performance, what a job, everything was magnificent, such a beautiful production. Congratulations to everyone involved.

The quality is surprising, it's impossible not to become a fan of this series and not recommend it to others.

Please, don't leave the series without a proper ending, keep producing. I believe that I, along with thousands of other people, am eagerly waiting for the next seasons of this wonderful masterpiece.
