Anyone who lives in Austin would know much of the cast in this film: conspiracy theory shock radio jock Alex Jones, grass roots country musician Jesse Dayton, Savannah Welch of folk music group The Trishas, Katherine Willis from NBC's "Friday Night Lights". That along with the trailer was enough to get me to spend the $10 on the DVD from Amazon.
I wasn't expecting a lot, and ended up being blown away by this film. It's an intense ride, the main character is flawed but still likable, there's a strong spiritual theme without it hitting you over the head. It reminds me of Clint Eastwood's "The Outlaw Josie Wales". A man who resorts to vigilante justice.
It's obvious the writer/director Charles Wiedman knows how to write and direct with complexity. I want to see more. I read on the official movie site that it is currently being shopped as a series. Boy, I'd love to see that.
