This isn't the first show where I've sat there and thought "why is nobody actually talking about this?!" and it won't be the last, but seriously; why is no one actually mentioning this great show?
Uncle from another world (the English Title) is a uniquely comedic and very relatable TV show, and the modern touch as well as reference to Japanese pop culture makes it a great show.
I think the best way I can describe this is an Un-Isekai. It is not set in a fantasy world, so don't expect fantasy world building, but there is magic and whatnot in the show for fantasy fanatics. The voice of the main guy is also Dio's voice actor, so that makes it hilarious as well.
Reference to things like SEGA, Evangelion, and popular culture is hilarious from a more 80s/90s side, but the origin from a webcomic also makes this reference some dumb but funny modern stuff, like VTubers, Youtube and Tsunderes (AKA, all you sad people's lives) which make this show feel relevant and nostalgic consecutively.
I enjoy the gags, and while this isn't special or amazingly life changing, I will watch the episode each week, and I will, if the show carries on as it's started, thoroughly enjoy it!
This is a pretty dry season, so if you're looking for something to watch besides Classroom of the Elite S2 this is definitely a good candidate. Give it a watch!

Finding this series was completely unexpected and I'm glad I did! Isekai Ojisan (Uncle From Another World) is a unique twist on the Isekai genre. Instead of someone being transported from our world to a fantasy world and watching their journey unfold, we instead start at the very end, after they are transported back again. As the story unfolds, we get to see Ojisan (Uncle) become acclimatized to our world again after being gone for so long. With the help of his nephew, Takafumi, we find out what happened to Ojisan in the other world as he tells his story (memories) through a magical projection. We find out very quickly he wasn't exactly the hero we're used to seeing, was constantly discriminated against, and is embarrassingly socially inept. As the synopsis explains, Ojisan may have come back to our world, but gets to keep his magical powers. This is actually handled quite well, adds to the story, and never goes over the top.
Personally, I would recommend this series, especially if you're a fan of Isekai genre. Can't wait to see more!

One of if not the funniest anime I've seen. Excellent story with great characters and character-building.
It honestly boggles my mind that it has a mere 7.5 rating here. The cultural references to things such as video games, anime, and the internet is awesome.

At first I wasn't sure about the anime it definitely wasn't what I expected going in. However I found him so incredibly relatable being an ugly gamer in my mid 30s 😅. Jokes aside the pacing only starts slow for the first half of episode 1 it sets the stage really fast rapidly introducing a lot of the main characters early on and the the story picks up so much momentum I ended up staying up extra late just so I could steam roll all of season 1. They did such a good job with uncles character being obsessed with a bygone era that I grew up in and demonstrating his disconnect with events in the current era I really can't wait to see how the story unfolds even further. There's so many questions left swirling around in my head after finishing it that I can only show my complete support in hopes that this new studio is able to push out season 2 as fast as possoble.

The story is a reverse isekai with dark comedy ( which i found really funny ). It's a very good show, i really want all the production issues to end so that i can watch the next episode.
It is filled with all the 90s references and old video games references are also there which are very accurately shown.
The animation is nice, and the pacing of episodes is phenomenal.
The characters are interesting in their our right and all of them are very entartaining to watch.
It sometimes gets very dark, but only if you think deeply about it.
If you want to watch something new or something fresh you can give this a watch. You 100% won't regret it.

Serial comedy anime is enjoyable to watch . But I won ' t watch it because I know this kind of series well . First it starts with humor , then tragic funny scenes are shared . After people are brought to a consistency slowly , they spoil people's mental health with a heavy tragedy and give a final . Of course , I don't know what will happen at the end, but my feelings say that and I started to feel sad while watching it , so I will leave it in the 6th episode.
Also , did not like a bit facial expressions everyone is making ! Hope they find different comedy material . And something funnier . . .

This is just brilliant fun through and through. Uncle is an awesome character, the stories are fun and filled with comedy. It's a completely lighthearted with some elements of harem anime as uncle does have a following of 3 girls in the other world.
I can't get into too many serious anime's like AoT, I like them but they require more investment into understanding the complex story lines. So I love these anime's, easily bingeable. It's in line with anime's like One Punch Man, The way of the Househusband, The Devil is a part timer. Very easy to watch, no need to invest too much grey matter to enjoy it. Superb!

I absolutely loved this! Laughed so hard I cried. I can't say how much I didn't know I needed to watch this anime and am dying for a second season. The humour is mixed in with dark references that made my heart delight.
It's something many gamers can relate to (being left out, being socially awkward, having gaming or anime references only a certain few know, not picking up social queues.) it was a delight.
Especially how the hero wasn't exactly the shining light you usually get in anime's (handsome, amazing at combat, good with the ladies, good with his words.)
Uncle was just quite loveable and he's worth getting to know by watching it. Give him a shot and watch this so I can get my season 2 will you :)

Isekai Ojisan" is an anime that takes the well-worn isekai genre and infuses it with a breath of fresh, hilarious air. The show, a brilliant mix of comedy, satire, and nostalgia, has undoubtedly carved a unique place in the hearts of anime lovers, and it's no surprise that fans like myself would binge-watch it to the end without encountering a single dull moment. In fact, it's one of those rare gems that compels you to laugh, reminisce, and even tear up a bit, all at the same time. At first glance, "Isekai Ojisan" may seem like just another entry in the crowded isekai genre. However, it flips the script in ways that are both unexpected and ingenious. The story follows the titular "Ojisan" (literally meaning "uncle"), who wakes up from a 17-year-long coma only to reveal that he had been transported to a fantasy world during that time. Unlike the typical overpowered, good-looking, or even charming protagonists that dominate isekai stories, Ojisan is none of those things. Instead, he is an awkward, geeky middle-aged man who, despite his immense power in the fantasy world, remained as socially inept and eccentric as ever. The show's genius lies in its ability to play on the typical tropes of the isekai genre while also delivering a robust and refreshing comedy experience. "Isekai Ojisan" doesn't take itself too seriously, which is one of its greatest strengths. It humorously deconstructs the isekai tropes we've all grown used to-the overpowered protagonist, the harem of beautiful girls, and the epic quests-by placing them in the hands of an oblivious and socially awkward uncle. This subversion of expectations creates a rich playground for comedy that never feels forced or out of place. The narrative structure of "Isekai Ojisan" is another aspect that sets it apart. The story is primarily told through flashbacks as Ojisan recounts his adventures to his nephew, Takafumi. These flashbacks are not just simple retellings but are infused with Ojisan's warped perspective, which often leads to some absolutely hysterical moments. His interactions with the fantasy world's inhabitants, particularly the female characters who are clearly infatuated with him, are comedic gold. Despite their obvious romantic advances, Ojisan's complete obliviousness to them is both endearing and hilarious. What's also commendable is how the show blends humor with nostalgia. Ojisan is an otaku who loves old-school SEGA games, and the show is filled with references to classic games and anime from the 90s. For anyone who grew up in that era, these references are sure to hit the right notes of nostalgia. But even for those who didn't, the humor is universal and doesn't rely solely on these references to be funny. Visually, "Isekai Ojisan" does not disappoint either. The animation is crisp, vibrant, and full of life. The character designs are distinct and memorable, especially Ojisan's gruff, unkempt look, which contrasts hilariously with the sleek, stylish designs typical of most isekai protagonists. The fantasy world is brought to life with vivid colors and creative designs that feel both familiar and fresh. The voice acting is top-notch, with each actor perfectly capturing the essence of their characters. Ojisan's voice actor, in particular, does an incredible job of bringing out the character's awkwardness and eccentricity. The comedic timing, both in the dialogue and the voice delivery, is spot on, ensuring that the humor always hits its mark."Isekai Ojisan" is also surprisingly heartfelt. Beneath all the humor and satire, there's a genuine story of family, nostalgia, and finding one's place in the world. The relationship between Ojisan and Takafumi is touching, as it's clear that, despite his eccentricities, Ojisan cares deeply for his nephew. Their bond adds an emotional depth to the series that elevates it beyond just a simple comedy. In conclusion, "Isekai Ojisan" is a must-watch for anyone who loves isekai, comedy, or just good anime in general. It's a show that dares to be different and succeeds spectacularly. The combination of its unique premise, sharp humor, nostalgic elements, and heartfelt moments make it stand out in a genre that often feels overcrowded and repetitive. If there's another season of this awesomeness, I'm all in for digging it raw. For me, this anime is a perfect 10 out of 10, with not a single horrible episode in sight. It's a binge-worthy series that you'll find yourself watching to the end, laughing all the way, and maybe even shedding a tear or two.
So I was intrigued by the premise..Which is very much like lit rpg books. But i was immediately thrown off by the...stupid humor. After 2 episodes I was like geez..is the only comedy going to be that the uncle is a complete moron.. And I turned it off.
But then i went back and started watching the rest of the season...and yes it is still stupid. But its also dark and twisted. And the humor is really growing on me.
It even kinda also reminds of Off to Be the Wizard books. Which have issues of a different kind.
Anyways the uncle is probably clearly gay..but im liking it so far.
I have to keep going..ok...well I think it was funny how they referenced attack on titan.

I watched all the episodes in a day for killing time, but the story was smooth without any difficulty, so there was no problem in understanding the content, and "Elf in particular" was very pretty for the female characters in the painting. Even if it's because of the "Elf" painting, there is no problem when you finish the episode so that it doesn't affect the next episode. I think romance comedy is more suitable for the genre than skillful battle product. It's funny with the face of the character in between, but it's also funny with the story. Again, female characters are very attractive. Voice actors, paintings, and actions are all satisfactory. Although it's a life lesson from a video game, I think there are lessons enough to influence the viewers who watch it depending on the situation. Of course, I hope you take it too seriously and don't put it at the center of your life.
