The prison is named for Nicholas Cage's character in Raising Arizona.
In the show, Jack (Garret Dillahunt) was sent to prison 26 years prior to the year the story takes place. In reality, the actress who plays his love interest, Gloria (Shakira Barrera) is 26 years younger than Dillahunt.

Congresswoman Tackleberry's husband has reportedly made their money through the common use of a red food dye: "we get a penny every time somebody bites into a Twizzlers." Every time a character is seen eating some sort of candy onscreen, it is red (Twizzlers, red lollipops, red Jolly Ranchers, etc), with the exception of Kitkats and multi-flavored Easter jelly beans.
