Lea Brandstätter witnesses the death of her boyfriend. The investigation leads to Jean Leco, the president of the World Football Association. Their paths cross with that of Marcel, whose best friend has just been stabbed.

Lea is a lawyer in Berlin with a strong sense of justice and an instinct for people. But her world is turned upside down when her fiancé David dies right in front of her eyes. It seems he was on the run from someone unknown. What's more, another death seems to be connected: The best friend of right-wing hooligan Marcel was killed the very same day. Lea and Marcel form an unlikely team to get to the bottom of it all. As David worked as a successful player scout, their investigation soon leads to the highest ranks of the glamorous world of international football. One thing is for sure: David had to pay for something he knew.

On the sidelines of an evening soccer game, a young man is stabbed to death in the arms of his best friend, hooligan Marcel Fork. Almost at the same time, an accident occurs in the parking lot of the site, from which the journalist Bosch survives with serious injuries, while David, a successful scout for young soccer talents, burns to death in the car in front of his girlfriend Lea Brandstätter. Already in the morning, when David surprised Lea with his visit to Berlin, the idealistic criminal defense lawyer had the feeling that something was wrong.
