In a world where magic is kept secret, Daniel Spellbound is a teenage boy who works as a Spell Tracker, as he is hired to track down magical items for clients, all to make money to pay off a debt to the Pie Maker, a wicked witch who is the most wicked one of New York City. On his way to find a Fugu Rose, a magical ingredient so rare, it will completely pay off his debt while befriending Hoagie, a talking pig whose snout can sniff out anything magical, he is arrested by the Bureau of Magical Enforcement, and the Primus, knowing his father, hires him to help them, promising to clear his debt with the Pie Maker and even forgive his crimes, especially when the Viktor Albright, a.k.a. The Dark Mage, and his gang of alchemist are on the hunt for magical artifacts, and are after the Griffon's Egg.
For a series, this is neat. I recommend this for older kids due to violence, scary imagry, and even some crude humor, but the series has some good storytelling, great voice acting, and some good animation.

The world building was amazing. Reminds me of the American Dragon and the protagonist resembles Miles Morales. The animation quality and style reminds me of the Trollhunter series.
Great voice castings and the plotting reminds me of the Huntik series. Great number of representation of POC. Suitable for both younger and older audiences.
Season 1 was almost perfect to me. Great characterisation of the main characters, great action scenes and love the sense of adventure and treasure hunting aspects of the series. Great voice castings - very compelling and matched their respectives characters.
Season 2 was a huge let down, all the new characters were just annoying, the writings were all over the place and messy.

This is a really fun fantasy / adventure series for kids. It's like if Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had a baby, with it's own unique spin on those types of stories with fairy tale elements worked in. There are even some Star Wars vibes here and there.
The character models and backgrounds are really gorgeous and the world building is excellent and keeps expanding with every episode. The voice actors are pretty great too and there's a lot of humor here that I think kids or all ages will enjoy.
I'm really enjoying this series so far and I'm looking forward to more episodes!

Well through season 1 and 2 Daniel's dad is name Duncan Spellbound and he was a tracker like his son however Danny decides to quite the tracker status and help Hoagie to be human again and seal the dread magic from the world for good. Also Burden the Tracker/Wizard got corrupted by dread magic to destroy Daniel and release the dread magic to the world.
My theory that Daniel's mom is alive somewhere in the magic world and he might have a younger sister maybe 5 years old. And maybe Hoagie be human again in the next season of Daniel Spellbound. Support this show on for Matt Fernandes anytime here.

Its a cool series that my kids like. Cool idea with a magical world with different guilds and magical agency's. Our main character is a magic less human that is well known in a underground magical world in New York. He's profession is as a tracker of illegal magical items that he sells on the black market. But he always comes into trouble because of his stupidity.
The series is clumsy and messy. One chase of an item leads to another quest because Daniel turns out to owe everyone something and he also makes promises he can't keep.
Fun for kids! I like the potential of the series and the idea but the execution is bad.
