Anna Kendrick (Alice) spoke to PEOPLE about the role and is quoted as saying: "I was coming out of a personal experience with emotional abuse and psychological abuse," she shares, recalling the time she first came across the screenplay. "I think my rep sent it to me, because he knew what I'd been dealing with and sent it along. Because he was like, 'This sort of speaks to everything that you've been talking to me about.' " She did not name the boyfriend, though she said it was "recent;" she had ended a public six-year relationship with cinematographer Ben Richardson in 2020 and a relationship of a year or two with Bill Hader in June 2022.

Goofs
There's a sex scene towards the end of the movie between Anna Kendrick's character and her partner. When they're on the floor he clearly has bare legs. Next second right after he stands up he has black trousers on.

NOT dramatic. NOR is it the least bit of thrilling. What is left?

I love Anna Kendrick, the actress. She does a decent job (as always) performing her role, but...

The bad: this movie is severely lacking in spark and punch. There simply isnt any TRUE to life drama. And it sure as heck aint thrilling whatsoever.

More bad: the other leading actors are quite mediocre, well below average actually and that is a real bummer, because in such a personal tale about relationship, the other actors should matter, but now they unfortunately DON"T, because their acting capabilities are way below par. No chemistry. No fireworks...sigh.

Not any good then? The stories dramatic arch is disjointed. It doesnt flow well. There is "some" drama, but so little that I would never recommend this movie to anyone who is into dramas. Kind of a sleeping pill...
