Eli Roth spent a lot of time with Chicago detectives to get the details of the police district (station) correct. In the film in the corner of an open murder case board appears a card that says "We're gonna need a bigger board," a reference to the famous Jaws (1975) line "You're gonna need a bigger boat." This was something Roth actually saw on a board in the police captain's office.

Goofs
Kersey doesn't wear gloves and leaves fingerprints all over. The cops never dust for prints.

Crazy credits
When the title is shown on screen, it is faded away by the image of "flatlining" on a medical monitor. This effect is used in the closing credits as well.

The UK release was cut, the distributor chose to make reductions to a scene of torture in order to obtain a 15 classification. An uncut 18 classification was available.

Decent watch

Poor old Bruce is showing his age. If you can forgive the lack of 'Die Hard' action and replace it with gore, brain matter being splattered everywhere and a good feel factor ending, this is a great watch during lockdown. Bruce's character is likeable and believable. The storyline (ignoring the original Charles Bronson movie) is plausible and as mentioned, enough gore and satisfying 'punisher' style payback to keep fans happy. There was no cringy old man exertion and silly fights. Just a man being a vigilante. Nicely made and a decent pace with the right amount of action and a few smiles and puns on the way

Well done Bruce, this was your kind of movie. A kind of die hard for a 65 year old ex action hero.
