It’s time to take NBC‘s comedic sitcom St. Denis Medical off life support because the show is getting a Season 2 renewal! Fans of the series created by Superstore and American Auto’s Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer have been stuck in the waiting room while hoping for more episodes of the laugh-out-loud comedy, and today, news outlets are ready to give them the good news!

St. Denis Medical takes place in an underfunded, understaffed Pregon hospital for a mockumentary-style sitcom. The show places audiences in the scrubs of determined doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to treat patients while holding tightly to their tolerance and humanity. Anyone who’s ever worked in the medical field or experienced an extended hospital stay knows how stressful a hospital environment can be, and the staff of St. Denis Medical do their best to keep the unpredictable environment safe, light-hearted, and functioning.

To kick off 2025, Netflix has added a new slate of films to its streaming library, highlighted by Dune: Part Two. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster, which Consequence named the fourth best film of 2024, is streaming on the service as of January 1st.

Dune: Part Two, which stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and more, remains available to stream on Max. The first Dune movie can also be streamed on both Netflix and Max. Additionally, both films are available to purchase together in 4K Uhd.

The movie follows a mysterious mermaid who has been trapped and forgotten for years in the water tower of a small Southern town. While talking to Cam Gigandet about their insight into the movie, he revealed that he portrays a cop who is a bully toward Billy, who Jack Kilmer portrays.

The Roast of Tom Brady racked up 279 million minutes for the week of April 29-May 5, good for 10th place among original series in Nielsen’s rankings. The special streamed live on May 5, meaning it tallied those viewing minutes in under 12 hours. Blended is one of three movies Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore starred in together and is often regarded as the worst of the lot. While Sandler's films have rarely been critical darlings (with exceptions like Uncut Gems and Punch-Drunk Love standing out more as a result), some have garnered particularly harsh words from critics. This includes Blended, Adam Sandler's movie with Drew Barrymore where the two play recently single parents who find themselves increasingly pushed together during a trip to Africa.

Even when compared to the mixed reception of their prior collaboration 50 First Dates, Blended suffered from several negative critical reviews that focused on the boring and low-key offensive elements of the movie.

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.

Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. This is a story about a woman (Shannon) deeply addicted to celebrity news and gossip. After friends and family finally confront her, she agrees to get help. Where? The same place where the stars get help – a fancy celebrity rehab in Malibu. Instead of confronting her demons, she behaves as if it’s the Four Seasons. Once there, she connects with her favorite young starlet and must decide whether to return to her family or join her in Hollywood.

It’s season finale time for networks, but Netflix, naturally, still has plenty of brand new TV and shows coming in May.

Jeff Daniels makes his TV return in the David E. Kelley series “A Man in Full.” That six-episode series is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Tom Wolfe. Per a press release: “When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.” The series will also star Tom Pelphrey, Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill and Chanté Adams.

Additionally, comedy fans can get excited for a new special series from John Mulaney. The comedian is hosting a multi-night event, “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA,” that looks to be part interview show and part man-on-the-street hijinks.

The actress and talk show host broke the news via a preview clip for Friday’s episode of the Drew Barrymore Show. Barrymore initially brought up the subject of a Happy Gilmore sequel to her audience, saying, “I want it. I need it.” She continued, “I stayed up last night with my daughter watching Billy Madison. I sent Sandler a video of that, and then he sent me another video back, and I’m waiting to see if he’s confirming about the Happy Gilmore 2 script.”

She cited Christopher McDonald’s interview from last month, where the actor — who played Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore — claimed that Sandler had shown him a draft of the long-awaited sequel. The clip then shifted to later on in the show’s tape,...

“Drishyam,” a hit Indian thriller in which an ordinary man confounds the police in order to protect his family, is to be re-made in English. Production is by India’s Panorama Studios with U.S. companies Gulfstream Pictures and Joat Films.

The film was first made in 2013 in the Malayalam language, before being remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles in 2015. It earned itself a Hindi sequel “Drishyam 2,” in 2022, that grossed some $43 million worldwide.

Panorama, which produced the Hindi version for Viacom18 Motion Pictures, has acquired the international remake rights to “Drishyam 1 & 2” from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas, and is settling up multiple international versions. A Korean remake with Anthology Studios was announced in May last year, while Panorama says that a development deal for a Spanish language retread is also close to being finalized.
