Director Scott Derrickson’s Joe Hill adaptation The Black Phone was a hit in theaters last year, so it comes as no big surprise that The Black Phone 2 has officially been confirmed.
Universal and Blumhouse will release The Black Phone 2 on June 27, 2025!
No word yet on whether or not Derrickson will return to direct. Stay tuned.
Academy Award® nominee Ethan Hawke (Sinister, Boyhood, Training Day), in the most disturbing role of his career, starred in the suspenseful thriller The Black Phone, which is based on the short story by Joe Hill. The film came from Blumhouse and director Scott Derrickson, who brought us Sinister and Doctor Strange.
From producer Jason Blum, and written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill (Sinister, Dr. Strange) with Derrickson directing, The Black Phone stars Ethan Hawke, Jeremy Davies (Saving Private Ryan, The House That Jack Built, Lost), James Ransone (It Chapter Two, Generation Kill), Mason Thames (For All Mankind,...

One of my favorite (and certainly the most unnerving) movies that screened at this year's Overlook Film Festival, Scott Derrickson's The Black Phone (co-written by C. Robert Cargill and based on the short story of the same name by Joe Hill) is heading home to Digital on August 12th, followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release on August 16th via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
Below, we have a look at the Blu-ray / DVD cover art and details on the bonus features, including deleted scenes and a feature-length commentary by Derrickson.
Also, in case you missed it, go here to catch up on our previous coverage of The Black Phone, including Heather Wixson's review and Michelle Swope's video interviews with the cast and crew!

Even the president finds time to watch TV. On Friday, President Donald Trump gave a presidential plug to the Showtime series “Ray Donovan” — and more specifically, actor Jon Voight.
Praising “Ray Donovan” as a “big time hit” in the midst of its seventh season, Trump showered compliments on the man who just might be his favorite actor.
“Academy Award winning actor (and great guy!) [Jon Voight] is fantastic in the role of Mickey Donovan in the big television hit, Ray Donovan. From Midnight Cowboy to Deliverance to The Champ (one of the best ever boxing movies), & many others, Jon delivers Big. Also, Loves The USA!” Trump tweeted.

Calls to boycott Hallmark Channel have drawn the attention of the network’s past and present stars, including One Tree Hill vet Hilarie Burton.
Burton, who has previously headlined three Hallmark movies — Naughty or Nice (2012), Surprised by Love (2015) and Summer Villa (2016) — responded to the controversy surrounding the network’s decision to pull commercials that featured a same-sex wedding. In a Twitter thread on Sunday, the actress claimed that she’d been fired from a Hallmark movie earlier this year after she insisted on more diverse casting.

Lifetime sure does love a One Tree Hill reunion, and we love them for it. The new holiday movie A Christmas Wish once again reunites Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer, and Tyler Hilton, who played Chris Keller, as best friends who are probably going to fall in love. E! News has your first look at the new movie above, which also stars One Tree Hill's Lee Norris and Colin Fickes. In A Christmas Wish, Burton plays Faith, a woman who is encouraged by her sister Maddie to participate in their town's annual tradition by writing down her "true heart's desire" on a slip of paper and putting it in a wooden wishing box. Faith's wish is to...
