This Colombian drama, which is based by real events, tells the story one mother's determination to find out how her son died in a park after a Halloween party and, with the help of a determined prosecutor to bring those responsible to justice. Early on we see college student Luis Andrés Colmenares going to a party at a club with his wealthier friends; after an argument with his girlfriend he storms off; she later calls to say she saw him fall into a drainage canal running through the park but there is no sign of his body. He is found later, in an area that had apparently been searched. Despite irregularities the case is quickly closed as it is determined to be an accident. His mother won't accept this a starts to pressure the prosecutor; when a new man is given that job the investigation gets more serious; it won't be easy though as those suspected are from powerful families with ties to government and the justice department.
I found this to be a gripping series; it successfully combines several genres as we have the mystery as to what happened, court room drama as the prosecutor tries to find justice for Luis Andrés and social commentary on the way those at the top seem to be above the law. I wasn't expecting too many surprises but questions raised late on make the final outcome far from certain. The cast does a fine job bringing their characters to life. Overall I'd definitely recommend this series.
