Trivia
The title of this episode is a reference to the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. When it happened, the fire was blamed on a cow belonging to a Mrs. O'Leary that allegedly kicked over an oil-burning lamp in a barn, setting fire to the hay.

Goofs
The map screen in the victim's car incorrectly has the latitude labeled as longitude and longitude labeled as latitude.

Contrived Drama

Allison figures out that an airline pilot murdered his wife, and finds the body. Then she is dreaming her wacked dreams that aren't very clear, indicating to her mind that he needs to stay free in order to keep an airplane from crashing.

That is really such a dumb concept that it made the whole episode dumber than it had to be. Every day, airline pilots avoid collisions, crashes, mechanical mishaps and other problems. That is what they are trained to do. So why would Allison imagine that if the guy was arrested for murder, his airplane would crash?

Even worse is that DA Davalos and Detective Lee listen to her nutty ideas without dropping on the floor laughing. Her pathetic wimpy husband, played by the blank slate of Jake Weber, is perfect for his role as a zero.
