In the scene where the bandages are taken off Leela's eyes/head, the "camera view" under the bandages is seen. This is a direct connection to Twilight Zone TOS episode "Eye Of The Beholder", both scenes dealing with characters who have undergone operations to become "normal"

Goofs
At the end, Bender uses a magnet to hold the orphans' picture to the inside of his door. In the pilot, we learn that magnets cause Bender to break out in folk songs.
