The anticipation for Lulu’s return on General Hospital is high. After a bomb destroyed the Floating Rib restaurant in 2020, Lulu — then played by Emme Rylan — ended up in a coma. Ever since, she has been in a long-term care facility. But the meds she was given took a toll on her liver. So, she underwent a risky transplant operation. The donor, Sam, died from a heart attack while in recovery, and Lulu’s mom, Laura, has been begging her daughter to emerge from her comatose state. Lulu’s return is imminent, and we now know when Alexa Havins will officially take on the role. And it’s just around the corner.

The Time Is Imminent

Because Sam (Kelly Monaco) died and the hospital wants to transfer Lulu back to the care facility, Laura has been at her daughter’s side begging for her to awaken so that Sam’s death would mean something.

Just over two months since it was first announced that former “All My Children” star Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Carey) would be joining the cast of “General Hospital” as a recast Lulu Spencer, we’re finally learning when the actress will be making her return to daytime television.

In an interview published in the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine, on newsstands this week, the magazine reveals that fans will finally get to see Havins beginning with the Monday, November 18 episode.

“The writers have written some fun things,” the actress said of what viewers can expect from her character, last played by Emme Rylan. “She’s waking up from a four-year coma, so we’ve got a lot of twists and turns and we hit the ground running,” Havins added.

After an exhaustive casting search, it looks like “General Hospital” has finally found its new Lulu Spencer.

Daytime Confidential reports that the ABC daytime drama series has hired “All My Children” alum Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Chandler) to portray the daughter of Luke and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis and Anthony Geary), and the younger sister of Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).

Since Daytime Confidential‘s reporting, TV Line has confirmed Havins has been cast as Lulu.

Last played by Emme Rylan, the return of Lulu marks a turning point for the character who was placed in a coma in 2020 when an explosion at the Floating Rib left several others injured and caused the deaths of Lulu’s love interest at the time, Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), and teenager Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab).

The BBC and Disney announced additional cast members for the upcoming spinoff series “The War Between the Land and the Sea.” The show will focus on the classic Doctor Who villains called the Sea Devils. It will explore a war between humanity and the Sea Devils that emerge from the oceans.

The show features Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as lead characters. They have both appeared before in guest roles on Doctor Who. Joining them are returning actors Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart and Alexander Devrient as Colonel Ibrahim. Kate Stewart is head of the organization Unit, which tries to protect Earth.

Ian Gelder, the British actor who played Kevan Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones and the villain Zellin on Doctor Who, has died. He was 74.

“It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder,” the actor Ben Daniels announced on Instagram. Daniels revealed that Gelder had been diagnosed with bile duct cancer five months ago and that “neither of us had any idea that it would all be so fast.”

“He was my absolute rock and we’d been partners for more than 30 years. If we weren’t together we spoke to each other everyday,” Daniels wrote. “He was the kindest, most generous spirited and loving human being. He was a wonderful wonderful actor, and everyone who worked with him was touched by his heart and light.

The actors strike is over, and news has emerged that a biopic of Elon Musk, directed by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, is in the works. The movie from A24 is to be based on Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Musk.

So the guessing game is on: Who would best capture the essence of the mercurial, meme-loving tech mogul on the big screen?

It won’t surprise you to learn that the internet has already chewed over this question. In a recent Reddit thread, commenters’ top-voted casting picks for Musk were: Nicolas Cage, Rami Malek, Robert Downey Jr. and Jesse Eisenberg (the last being a troll’s pick: Eisenberg starred as Musk rival Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network”).

When Do New...

There truly has never been a better time to be a Doctor Who fan.

Not only do we have the three long-awaited 60th anniversary episodes mere weeks away (even if we are still waiting on an official release date beyond “November!”), we’re then getting the return of the Doctor Who festive special with a brand-new Doctor and companion on the way in Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, not to mention the shiny new series 14 launching some time in 2024.

From 1st November, BBC iPlayer will host over 800 episodes of Doctor Who, including all the classic series from the very first Doctor, William Hartnell, right the way through to the 1996 TV movie with Paul McGann.

Somehow, the final series of Ghosts has neatly tied up all the show’s loose ends while still leaving us wanting more – which is a jolly good thing considering they’ve confirmed we’re getting one more Christmas special in December 2023.

They really packed a lot into those last six episodes, revealing the heartbreaking truth behind the deaths of Kitty and the Captain, showing Alison and Mike’s next step in life, and giving the whole gang the opportunity to say all the lovely, touching things fans wanted to hear (as well as adding a poignant reference to Mary in the opening credits).

Shawna Trpcic, an Emmy-nominated costume designer best known for her work on several Star Wars series on Disney and her collaborations with Joss Whedon, died October 4, her agency Gersh and Lucasfilm confirmed. She was 56. A cause of death was not provided but Trpcic’s passing was unexpected; as recently as three days ago she was chronicling a desert trip on Instagram.

Born in Artesia, CA, Trpcic was always into science fiction and comic books. She attended Otis College of Art and Design for fashion where, in her senior year, she worked on Bob Mackie’s team.

Trpcic got her start illustrating for Albert Wolsky on the Oscar-winning film Bugsy and then became his assistant on Barry Levinson’s film Toys. Shawna Trpcic, the Emmy-nominated costume designer who worked on the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, has died. She was 56.

Trpcic died suddenly of an unknown cause in Palm Desert on Wednesday, her daughter, Sarah, told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Shawna was one of Hollywood’s pre-eminent science fiction costume designers — a creative force, a trusted collaborator and all-around delightful person for her friends and colleagues,” her rep Tim Kressman, an agent at Gersh, said. “She was a beloved member of the Star Wars/Lucasfilm family as well as the community of costume designers and the Costume Designers Guild.”

He added, “Shawna was a dear friend and a dream client to work with.”

Varma, who played Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones, previously appeared in Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood in the 2000s and will play the mysterious new role of The Duchess next year.
