It is with deep sorrow that we report the passing of Tishaa Kumar, the 21-year-old daughter of former Bollywood actor Krishan Kumar. Tishaa succumbed to cancer after a long and courageous battle, despite receiving treatment in Germany and extensive care. She passed away in the hospital on July 18, 2024.

Tishaa’s death is a profound loss for the Kumar family. In a statement, a spokesperson from T-Series expressed their grief and requested privacy for the family during this difficult time.

Krishan Kumar, who gained fame for his role in the 1995 film “Bewafa Sanam,” is also known for his work with T-Series, India’s largest music production company. He is the younger brother of the late Gulshan Kumar, a pivotal figure in the Indian music industry, and son of Chandrabhan, a fruit seller who migrated to Delhi following the partition of India. Krishan Kumar is married to Tanya Singh, the daughter of music composer Ajit Singh.

The Maharashtra government has decided to name a street in Andheri West in honour of late National Award-winning actor-director Vikram Chandrakant Gokhale on his first death anniversary on November 26, officials said here on Saturday.

The street is adjacent to the new headquarters of Cine & Television Artistes’ Association (Cintaa) and Cawt, which was inaugurated last month, and leads to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in the presence of the late actor’s wife Vrushali Vikram Gokhale, a galaxy of Bollywood and Marathi film personalities and political leaders, will perform the road-naming ceremony on Sunday.

Gokhale, who passed away last year aged 77, was a past President of Cintaa (2017-2022) when he contributed immensely to the welfare of Cintaa artistes and even donated one-acre land to the premiere association.

Yaariyan 2, the sequel to the hit 2014 film Yaariyan, is all set to release its teaser tomorrow. The makers of the film have unveiled the first look poster of the film, which features the lead actors Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri in traditional outfits. The poster also reveals the release date of the film, which is October 20, 2023.

Yaariyan 2 is a comedy-drama film that revolves around the bond of friendship and family among three cousins, played by Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri. The film also stars Yash Dasgupta, Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain and Priya Varrier in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who have previously helmed films like Lucky: No Time for Love and Sanam Teri Kasam. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar and Aayush Maheshwari under the banner of T-Series.
