- GoofsThe closing credits intentionally start to roll prior to the last scene (as part of a joke). They list DoLorian in the role of Stephanie and Cherokee in the roll of Marci. However, when the final credits do finally roll at the end of the movie, suddenly they read Dolorian in the role of Marci and the line with Cherokee's name is completely absent.
- Quotes
Scott: [Thinking to himself] Oh, man, you are such a doofus! I mean, how uncool can you be? She is so out of your league.
Christine: [Thinking to herself] Just look at him. He's so cute! And he even separates his colors.
Scott: [Thinking to himself] Just look at her. She is so hot! Oh, look at those panties! Come on, dude! Go for it. Come on. Ask her out.
Scott: [Thinking to herself] I wish he'd just ask me out...
- ConnectionsReferenced in Teeth (2007)
It's a rom-com set in a laundromat, hardly as memorable as the movie that launched Daniel Day-Lewis' career -"My Beautiful Laundrette", but light and fluffy entertainment.
The setting is well exploited as a place where strangers meet, specifically leads Brad and Jessica Drake, latter delightful and endearing as the romantic heroine. She breaks up with her live-in lover Chris Cannon early in the movie, after finding some other woman's red panties in their bedroom.
After a meet cute, Brad and Jessica's budding romance has its ups and downs, with Armstrong's well-written script making good use of voice-overs to allow both lead characters to express their thoughts regarding their dating.
It's a matter of taste how one reacts to Randy Spears' hammy performance as the Latino laundromat owner, but he earns his keep in the extraneous sex scene at the laundromat with sexy Lezley Zen, inserted cleverly during the end credits.
