Trivia
Director John Carpenter, who made the 1982 film of the same name that this video game is sequel to, worked closely with developer Computer Artworks. Such a good time was had all around that Computer Artworks got Mr. Carpenter to contribute his face and his voice for the in-game character of Dr. Shaun Faraday. Perhaps due to SAG considerations, however, the game's end credits only list a special thank-you message for Mr. Carpenter and not a voice actor credit.

Goofs
When the player is in the submarine level, they log on to a computer that mentions "Sean Faraday". However through out the game afterward, his name is spelt "Shaun Faraday".

Alternate versions
The German version is heavily censored in favor of securing the USK-16 rating. Notable changes include removal of most blood & gore effects, certain cutscenes having violence heavily toned down, removal of several death cries from humans, and shortened mutation transformations.

'It's time for the blood and gore'

The game is great, set some time after the film where a rescue team is sent to Antartica to check out the carnage, very soon your team get wiped out by creatures and you are left by yourself in a snow storm to find a way out, you are captain Blake, leader of the military rescue team and its your job to find weapons, ammo, and other supplies if you are survive. The game is difficult when you need to find a way out as keys and stuff are hidden and aliens attack you, the scenes of the murder is pretty gruesome and the game has many gore and blood scenes that wont disappoint you. During the game you are pitted against a number of bosses which you must defeat to survive and for me they were hard, no joke, for all gamers, this game is one for scares.
