Here's a cop show, filmed in Sydney, better than you might of thought it to be if had given a chance. I must say, at 13 I was hooked to this show, especially the early episodes which didn't F around, where the story asset, involved a notorious crim, (Steven Grives, another dastardly performance, after another ill fated show, Holiday Island), running an escort agency, who made the mistake of stealing the lonely and neglected wife of a big hot shot detective, away from him. Waterloo is actually an south inner city suburb of Sydney, for anyone interested, where I'm sure a lot of scenes were filmed around that area, as knowing Sydney quite well. WS has the most fascinatingly cool casting, I've ever seen in a show, most of it's players shortly faded out after this, but they were big names to start with. In my mind, they won't be forgotten, especially Sally Taylor and Julianne White for their beauty. Pam Western as the wife of a veteran Police Officer, brother of the more successful (hot dog d..k) showed such realistic acting, it was hauntingly genuine and really no act. The show had a great continuation of story, and exciting plot, done solid, though intensely more so, in the early Steve Colby (Grives phase). This phase alone, there were a lot of searing moments. Grives is such a great actor, a British guy, you should witness, in his versatility of roles, of course, better suited for playing bad guys of course. It was kind of a shame to see him go, after his early character demise here. This was quite a powerfully charged cop series I liked, that ended all too soon, but never lost it's intensity towards the end. If ever hitting DVD, make this a definite buy.
