Remember when in 2007 and 2011 Nicolas Cage portrayed the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider in Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, respectively? Yeah, the movies were made in the pre-mcu era and while they were never major hits at the time, with all the nostalgia, fans want to see the character once again.
We know that since Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the rights to these characters switched to the MCU, which now has access to Ghost Rider. In light of that, we have reported how Cage was called to reprise his role in Deadpool & Wolverine and how even concept art showing Ghost Rider was made, but that did not work out.
And while Cage is now working on Spider-Noir, fans are demanding his return to the role of Ghost Rider as well. In light of that, a popular, yet not always reliable source of...

Nicolas Cage was spotted on the set of Spider-Noir earlier this month but wasn’t in his Spidey costume at the time. Thankfully, our first look at the live-action Spider-Man Noir costume has arrived, thanks to a handful of set photos. There’s also a video that showcases a stunt sequence in which Spider-Noir is perched atop a vehicle while shooting webs. You’ll have to view that through the link. Given the nature of the scene, it’s not Cage in the costume but rather a stunt double.

2024 is (a). almost over and (b). has officially entered its spooky season. So by now, we can pinpoint some horror trends. What is scaring us this year?
Both "Immaculate" and "The First Omen" are about young women forced by religious fanatics to bear unwanted and monstrous pregnancies. Due to the movies' overlapping subject matter and tight release window, they were named the harbingers of a pro-choice horror wave. America did recently strip people's rights to abortion by judicial fiat, after all. Even Coralie Fargeat's "The Substance," a body horror film about how beauty standards devalue aging women, is a cousin to these films. (Fargeat's film has got the most disgusting "birth" scene that doesn't star a chestburster.)
However, one should not forget the religious settings of "Immaculate" and "The First Omen," for this is where the two 2024 horror trends intersect.

Cameras are now rolling on Prime Video's Spider-Noir series, which will introduce a live-action take on Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir from the animated Into The Spider-Verse movies.
Just Jared has shared the first photos from the set, and they reveal Cage filming a scene as the titular washed-up crime-fighter. We don't have much context for the sequence being shot, but the site notes that Cage's character appears to have been "knocked over by something in the scene."
The show's official logline says Spider-Noir “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
Though this has yet to be officially confirmed, Cage is believed to be playing a new take on Peter Parker's genetic clone, Ben Reilly, aka the Scarlet Spider.

Everyone knows that The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series around. Garth Ennis’ dark and twisted take on the genre has turned into a cultural phenomenon, with Eric Kripke’s vision elevating the show to new heights with each season.
As the series gears up for its wild final season, we’re taking a moment to revisit the recently concluded fourth season. One character we hadn’t discussed much before is Black Noir, who played a significant role this season with his intriguing comeback from the dead.
While we saw a “new” Black Noir on screen, with Nathan Mitchell reprising his role, the in-universe events behind his return were much more complicated. The “new” Black Noir had to go through a unique audition to become the latest member of the Seven.

Jack Huston has joined the cast of Spider-Noir. He will star as a series regular alongside Nicolas Cage, who plays an “aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Cage first voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Did Amazon’s live-action Spider-Man Noir series find its main villain? Variety seems to think so. According to the entertainment outlet, Brendan Gleeson is officially joining the cast of the hard-boiled Spider-Man series, possibly in a villainous role. Details about Gleeson’s character remain a mystery. However, Variety believes he could play the main villain in the show that stars a stacked cast, including Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, with Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Abraham Popoola as a World War I veteran, and Li Jun Li as a singer at a premiere New York nightclub.

Recently, Sony has faced several difficulties in managing their Spider-Man IP. The long-running partnership between Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Sony is reportedly set to end, following disagreements over Spider-Man: Noir.
A story has popped up over at Puck that claims things are not going particularly smoothly on the live-action Spider-Man: Noir project that’s set to feature Nicolas Cage as a hard-boiled alternative universe take on the Spider-Man character.
An animated version of the character popped up in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and its sequel, Across The Spider-Verse. A third entry in that series was due to arrive in March of this year but was delayed with stories suggesting that too many revisions to the project were making the animation workflow very difficult in terms of meeting deadlines.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot have inexplicably managed to sign a new multi-year film and TV deal with Warner Bros.

Prime Video's live-action Spider-Noir series, which will star Nicolas Cage as the Depression-era wall-crawler of the title, has added another cast member, with Andor and Morbius actor Abraham Popoola set to play a key supporting role.
Popoola's character is not named, but Deadline reveals that he is "a World War I veteran who is looking for an opportunity to get ahead." Insider Daniel Richtman has since weighed in, and he believes he'll be playing Flint Marko, aka the Sandman.
A recent character breakdown described this take on the Spider-Man villains as: "A hired goon working for Yuri, but he has an unknown condition that causes him to turn into the Sandman. When he switches between identities, he has no memories of what the alter ego did while in control. It seems a decent amount of the story will revolve around him, and there is a lot of potential for this character to be a fan-favorite.

We have often seen on the internet how the fans debate over the best among the three popular iterations of Spider-Man. While each version had its pros and cons, it cannot be denied that Tobey Maguire set a standard in the genre that others have not really been able to meet. He had a primary contribution in skyrocketing the franchise to a level that is presently greater than Star Wars or DC.

The Boys: Black Noir’s Narcolepsy was Inspired by the Actor’s Real-Life Condition - Main Image
Homelander may have murdered Black Noir, but his replacement in the fourth season of The Boys has his own quirks.
The previous episode revealed that Noir II is narcoleptic and can suddenly fall asleep, and as it turns out, this was something they got from actor Nathan Mitchell.
Black Noir II’s Narcolepsy in The Boys
Though he may be a replacement, the new Black Noir of The Seven is given his arc for the fourth season, and it’s revealed that he’s still a supe—but one that’s specially trained in acting. Besides all the usual invulnerability powers, Noir II also has the ability to fly.

This week's penultimate season 4 episode of The Boys concluded with another big reveal, although - much like last week's Joe Kessler twist - you might well have figured it out if you'd been paying close attention.
At one point during "The Insider," Butcher, Annie and Hughie encounter a Supe shapeshifter, which, of course, means that one of our heroes is going to be replaced by an evil doppelgänger at some point.
As the gang wind down at a bar after their scrap with The Deep and Black Noir, a "fan" approaches Annie and asks for a selfie. Later, Annie surprised Hughie by instigating sex while wearing her old Starlight costume, and we get confirmation that this is actually the Shifter when she steals the laptop containing all of the dirt on Victoria Neuman on it from Hughie's safe.
The episode ends with the real Annie chained up in an unknown location,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from Episode 7 of “The Boys” Season 4, currently streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
It’s Christmas for “The Boys” — sort of.
The latest episode begins with Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) filming a puppet-themed Christmas special for Vought, complete with a puppet version of A-Train and a hilarious pro-America, anti-woke agenda. However, Ryan pulls the plug on the promo over its controversial lyrics, which were personally approved by his dad Homelander (Antony Starr).
Things aren’t going well for the elder, unraveling supe. Homelander is furious that Vought hasn’t caught the company leaker yet, after Homelander incorrectly suspected and then murdered newscaster Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison) — who is reported publicly to have died from a brain aneurysm after a flu vaccination. Amazon has decided not to move forward with the Marvel live-action series, Silk: Spider Society, two years after green-lighting the project. The show, from producers Sony Pictures Television, was confirmed back in 2022 and was in the early stages of writing when Amazon pulled the plug on it.
The Walking Dead fame Angela Kang was attached to the series as the showrunner, whose deal with Amazon still remains in place as she will be working on other projects for the studio. Meanwhile, Prime Video has announced another series based on Marvel characters owned by Sony: Noir, starring Nicolas Cage.

After five years in development, “Silk: Spider Society” is no more. Variety reports that Amazon has scrapped plans for the live-action series entirely after the show already received a massive writers’ room overhaul in February. It’s a fate Spidey-fans shouldn’t be surprised by. When Amazon gave “Noir” with Nic Cage the green light last week, they provided no updates on “Silk: Spider Society,” leading many to assume the worst.

Earlier this week, we learned of plans for Noir, a new Spider-Man TV series coming to Amazon's Prime Video. While it's still early days, the project will see Nicolas Cage suit up after first playing the title character in 2018's animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
There was no mention of Silk: Spider Society during Amazon's Upfronts earlier this week and, yesterday evening, we learned that the streamer has scrapped plans for the series.
The Hollywood Reporter has since chimed in, confirming that Phil Lord and Chris Miller remain attached to Sony's small screen Spider-Verse. The filmmakers "were handed control of the studio’s Marvel slate" as part of a deal first made with the studio in 2019.
"Plans for the interconnected Marvel slate of Sony shows remains in place, sources say, though only Noir will be part of that now unless another buyer for Silk emerges," the trade adds.
There was no mention of Silk: Spider Society during Amazon's Upfronts earlier this week and, yesterday evening, we learned that the streamer has scrapped plans for the series.

The Spider-Verse gives, and the Spider-Verse takes away. According to Deadline, the live-action TV series "Silk: Spider Society" is dead on arrival after years of development. Earlier this week, MGM and Prime Video (which were set to be the streaming home for the series) announced that Nicolas Cage will be starring in his own live-action Spider-Verse spinoff, "Noir," but didn't give any updates on "Silk" a series that was set to shine a spotlight on Korean-American spider-powered hero Cindy Moon. Silk: Spider Society had the potential to make it to the screen but despite the initial development, the show was recently scrapped at Amazon. Sony Pictures Television’s producers ordered the development of the drama based on the characters from Marvel comics (Sony owns part of several Marvel characters).
