Featured review
Firstly i must correct an error.this is not a short,it is a feature. It should be 70 minutes in length.I have a copy which runs from reel 2 so is just under an hour. The turns are introduced by Christopher Stone who was the first BBC DJ.Thereis a very slight linking story.Claude Hulbert and Gus MaNaughton are trying to steal material from the artists. My copy starts off with Elsie Carlisle singing a couple of numbers.Clapham and Dwyer, familiar to radio fans doing an unfunny routine.A brief routine from Gert and Daisy.Reginald Gardiner does an imitation of cars rather than trains.Florence Desmond does her standard list of impressions.Roy Fox finishes it off but alas with only one number.A really fascinating insight into variety in 1933.
